So today Ecuador's U-17 will be playing their first game against Argentina. I enjoyed watching their performance in the Copa Naciones which they ended up as Champions, they had some amazing players on there as well some of which are the future of our NT. Hopefully they can perform just as well and make it to the u-17 world cup and get noticed by European clubs. You can catch a link to todays game at rojadirecta
Overall good game, Ecuador was the stronger team by far they got to work out when to shoot and when to pass it could've been a win but by a larger scale
that 2009 game in Quito vs. Brazil with Vizuete as coach. I'll never forget that game. Had to have been the best futbol I've seen an ecuadorian NT play til this day...and many ecuas who are even older say the same. That could've been the day Brazil got humiliated.
Yup the commentators wouldn't stop commentating on him hopefully the put him on for a full 90 minutes agaisnt chile.
Uruguay defeated Argentina today 2-1, but the biggest surprise was Bolivia beating Chile 3-2 and it was not fluke they dominated Chile after they went down. Judging the performances thus far it's safe to say Ecuador and Uruguay are the teams to beat in this group.
We'll need to beat Chile Tuesday to keep up with Uruguay, hopefully we reach the last game against the Charruas already qualified, I hope this team does well, after that disastrous U-20 we could use some good news out of our formation NTs
Thats for sure they're also playing some great football, if there was a game between the u-17 and the u-20 my moneys on these guys
Huge victory for Ecuador and Naula needs some more minutes. With this win we are level on everything with Uruguay and with our next game against Bolivia i think we can beat them in GD.
As long as we are in the top 3, this takes us to the final 6, If we win against Bolivia, the starters should get a rest against Uruguay, que se sabe del otro grupo? any force to be reckoned with?
I've watched some of the games from the other group, teams are really struggling there defensively but they do capitalize on defensive errors, Paraguay seem to be the force to be reckoned with especially with home advantage, Brazil lost 2-0 leads to Venezuela and Paraguay resulting in a loss and draw, Venezuela is tricky i must say either they have a great first half or good second half, Can't say much about Colombia a loss against Brazil and a win against a weak Peru side if they beat Venezuela they could be another force to reckon with. If we win against Bolivia we should capitalize on increasing our GD to beat Uruguay's, being first in group A has its perk in the final round b/c i dont want to see us crashed out.
How many players from this team were in the U16 World Cup tournament a few months ago. Looks like we have a real promising generation here. I'm not so confident about the 2018 cycle but maybe the 2022 cycle we can have some of these youngsters becoming a force to be reckoned with.
Hate to be a Debbie-downer but we pretty much said the same thing when we won gold at the 2007 Pan-American games =( The only real star we got out of that squad was Jefferson Montero, we didn't get a full force-to-be-reckoned-with team.
