He went to college in St Louis. But you probably already knew that.

yeah, I was thinking that Subtonic must have zero left if he can't get a sniff in the current BVB defense.

CBP would certainly be on Ibisevic's case, as a (former?) Green Card holder, a Moose-Limb, and refugee.

    And still only 28.

He's won Bundesliga titles, a German Cup, over 40 Champions League games, played in a World Cup. And yet here he is in his prime and he can't get a game.

    Weird.

why is that exactly? was it injuries or just not very respectful of the coach?

So I'm guessing there's zero chance he makes Serbia's WC team? Like Rossi, we could have used him last night in Trinidad.

Does he even play for Dortmund? But then again, Costa Rica has demonstrated that your players don't need to be in form to perform...

not really....just another example that class, form, past accomplishments and current status are rarely ever in perfect alignment.

alas, real life is not a FIFA video game (where reputation and affiliation basically equals performance).

Moving to AS St. Etienne in Ligue 1:

    http://www.bvb.de/ger/News/Uebersicht/Neven-Subotic-wechselt-zu-AS-St.-Etienne

BVB professional Neven Subotic is looking for a new sporting challenge and joins AS St. Etienne in the French League 1. The chairman of the board, Hans-Joachim Watzke, and sports director Michael Zorc met the request of the player to terminate the contract "due to Nevens exceptionally great merit around the club, sporty and human ".

"Also, we weren't actually going to play him, so this way we don't need to waste money paying him his salary."

So I just realized that Subotic will be a free agent come July 2019. Could this be a chance for him to join MLS? Would love to see how he stacks up in the domestic league. Plenty of teams could use him.
