[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1do_J3QFq4"]Francia vs Portugal - FIFA U20 World Cup Medellin Colombia[/ame]

We shouldn't have a youth coach till we have a Senor coach. The Senior coach tells the youth ones how we should play. Not hey let's have the fed tell everyone how we should play.

    Huh?!?!?

NOthing got to do with one thing to another. You can appoint a sub-20 coach regardless the fact that the senior still doesn't have one. Both coaches only needs to co=operate between them, but no one tells the other one how to play. I don't know Restrepo, but in my opinion there are many better opcions. Gamero, Alexis Garcia, Hernan Torres, Leonel are examples of better coaches. But we will wish him all the best. At least we got rid of Lara.

Look our big Senior level problem is none of our guys play in Colombia they play in europe. They play like the french, portugese or italians. We need to blend those styles with our own. You get guys like Falcao who are godlike in the air and no one sending them crosses. If 2 players on our team knew how to cross Falcao would have 50 goals with us by now

But what all of this got to do with the FCF found a coach for the sub-20 before the senior?

Bonilla - Envigado, various transfer rumors most recently involving Nacional
Ospina - America, one of many sub 20 rejects on that team.
    Franco - Millos, undisputed starter
Arias - Sporting Lisboa, Probably 1st choice now that Joao Pereira has departed.
Quinones - Junior, Broke contract with Cali to get to Junior. Inconsistant.
Didier Moreno - Santa Fe, benched in favor of Juan Roa, who should have been on this team.
Castillo - FC Dallas, Hasn't played in a few weeks. Might be injured.
Ortega - Leverkusen/Atlas, Hopefully Leverkusen picks up the option. Atlas do want him back tho
    Muriel - Udinese
    James - Porto
Duvan Zapata - Esudiantes, ended the season very strong with a few starts and goals. Pleasantly surprising.
    A Mosquera - America, read Ospina^
Cabezas - Can't believe this kid ever got on the squad. He might still be owned by Cali, I'm not really sure. All i know is that he's failed to impress 5 different coaches over 3 years with Cali and each team he was loaned to.
Juan Diaz - Pasto, hasn't played a minute since they were promoted. Doesn't deserve to either.
Candelo - Cali, solid starter and has even begun to impress as a RB.
John Mosquera - Envigado, Undisputed starter.
Calle - DIM, more often than not he's among the first top come off the bench.
Perez - Nacional, was among Nacional's best last season but dropped in the pecking order with all their signings.
Murillo - Cadiz, undisputed starter for months now. Currently playing the promotion playoff against Albacete.
Trencito Valencia - Portland Timbers, ruled for the season with injury right after he got there. Portland wants to keep him.
Villate - Real Cartagena, Has played a few matches in Copa Colombia

Quiñones has been best signing by far this off-season for Junior. He just hasn't been able to stay healthy for a good stretch.

    In conclusion:
    Murillo
    Muriel
    James
    Bonilla
    Arias
    Ortega
    Quiñones
    Trencito
    Zapata
    Mosquera
    Castillo
    Perez
    Franco

These guy should have promising careers and some already have. Not bad! It will be good idea to keep tracking these guy in another year to see how they have develop further. Isn't Cuellar from Dept. Cali also from this class?

    Right you are Pepino.
Yep. He was part of the Sudamericano squad. Playing lights out in the league right now.

An extended list of players who were part of the process:

Cardona - Santa Fe, we all know his story. He's still young but he really needs to get his head right.
Stiveen Mendoza - America, was damn good for America this season.
Juan Saiz - Envigado, Hasn't played in the league since 2011. A few starts in Copa Colombia. A shame really, he looked promising in the sub 17.
Sebastian Viafara - U Popoyan, another kid who showed a ton of promise under 17 and just stuttered. He's mainly a bench player.
Manga Escobar - Cali, apparently being rescued after an uneventful stay in the Ukraine.
Deiner Cordoba - Paranaense, went to Brazil in the winter and hasn't made any buzz since. Don't expect much from him. I read that he beat his girlfriend or something.
Jorge Ramos - Santa Fe, barely any minutes at all. I'm not sure what anyone saw in him to begin with.
Miguel Julio - DIM, Bolillo gave him a ton of minutes early on in the year and he didn't make the most of them. I had high hopes for him at one point.
Yesinguer Jimenez - Once, back in Colombia after a brief spell in Spain. Not a starter and never will be.

Incredible how many of these kids amounted to nothing. Just for the hell of it here's a list of kids who all play pivotal parts for their respective squads yet never got any call.

    Meza & Roa- Santa Fe
    Darwin Andrade - Equidad
    Johnny Mostasilla & Sarmiento- Chico
    Villota - Pasto
Medina & Valoy- Nacional (these two actually went to a few micro-ciclos)
Carlos Robles & Olmes - Quindio
    Alvarez - Caldas
    Murillo - Cali

It's kind of harsh to write off a 20-21 year old already. I think Manga and Cardona if they work on their discipline will be great Colombian league/Mexican league players. I know people hate when I mention this but if the player isn't fast and at least 5'10 he is not going to Europe.

Mendoza also looks like a beast and will be ready for next season in 1st division.

I can't believe Lara picked that Ospina kid over Medina.

As for players in this squad who made it which is more important than the ones who have failed so far. 2 players are already on the senior team. 10 of our guys are doing great. This isn't out 2005 squad but tons of talent. I am still pissed we didn't lift the trophy. If Lara had just taken Medina instead of Ospina and Cardona instead of Candelo. I also hated that he was obsessed with that Cabezas kid who was awful and probably retired from soccer by now.

-Bonilla - Nacional, kid is being prepped to be their starter
-Murillo - fine play'd in the 3rd division of Spain but was a beast and they are trying to give a young CB experience
-Pedro Franco - Starter for Millos
    - Santiago Arias - Plays in Sporting potentially the starter this season
-Héctor Quiñones - Starts for Junior, rumors of going to Italy
-Michael Javier Ortega - plays in Germany was a starter at the end of the season
-Luis Muriel - Scored big goals for Lecce and is seen as a start by Udi, plays on the Senior team
    - James Rodríguez - wanted by Man U, Star at Porto and the best player in the Senior team
-Duván Zapata - became a starter at Estudiantes by teh end of the season
    - Sebastian Perez - isn't he a starter at Nacional?

Oh how beautiful the Internet can be when a 2011 thread about the U20 team is used to talk about the Bangladesh league and a future player for it.
Funny how it work in this globalized technological landscape.

Hahaha. These brought a tear to my eye... That Deiner Cordoba is one of the worst players I've seen in the U-17. He'd do better carrying bags of cement or sand... He is quite an specimen.
