I know this doesn't really belong here but it would never get seen there and I want to spread the word. I'm not affiliated... just a soccer fan.

I picked up a copy of the premier issue yesterday at Barnes and Noble, I'm not in SLC right now but it should be in SLC too. The mag is quality stuff, not at all what I expected for a first issue soccer mag. Great photos, good articles - a good article on Tim Howard was probably the best. I've already subscribed and put my money where my mouth is, if that means anything to anyone. It is about time we got a cool soccer mag in the US.

$20. Less than a trip to McD's for the average UT family :)

Much less than Soccer America and without all the stupid youth articles on how to conduct 3v3 drills or whatever.

Ya, I hate to bag on Soccer America cuz they were carrying the torch week in, week out for so many years. But ever since so much of this stuff - news, photos, standings, games - became available (or are becomign more available) I've struggled to see it's relevance.

So does the first issue have a big RSL story?

How does Soccer America relate to this Striker Magazine? Are they the publisher of something?

No relation as far as I know... some of the writers also contribute to Slam. Some others are Grant Wahl (of SI), Greg Lalas (Alexi?), Mike Petke, etc.

First issue contains articles on Adu, Chelsea, Ronaldinho, Donovan, Tim Howard, short MLS preview... that is all I can remember since the mag is at the hotel where I'm not.

30+ years and still going... SA will continue to be an option, may be THE option for most. It is just too expensive and covers alot of areas I don't really care about.

Has anyone found this in the Salt Lake area? I went to Barnes and Noble at Southtowne in Sandy and they didn't have it yet. I'd like to get one for my son.

Well... if you can't find it locally. You could go to
    http://www.****************.com

There is a link to buy it on the home page there.

I found it at Bob's Magazine shop on the corner of 8th South and State. He's selling it for $4.99 + tax. After figuring in the porno it cost me $432.98

I'll have to check out Striker. Another quality mag is 90:00. They sent me a promo issue a few months ago. Here is the web page:

BTW, good luck to all of you RSL supporters. I am a DC fan to the bone, but went to BYU. RSL will be my #2 team this year.
