I know what you mean though. There is so much other great content to watch and limited time. So you end up only watching if the moons align or you really want to watch Ozil, or its Bayern on german telly I can't justify watching reruns of the Wenger show for yet another year.
Why would any big name players come? Wenger has show no ability to sign any top players apart from the Ozil deal - and he would have gone to Utd except for the muppetry of Moyes, and Alexis who was booted out of Barca.
Can't argue. Though I question whether AW even tried/tries to sign the big names. He is a budget shopper. Both Ozil & Alexis were technically budget buys because of their circumstance. We usually loose out on the big guys because another team steps up and offers more or we scout them for 2+ yrs and they get bought before we have the chance to put in an offer.
How many of these players did we 'nearly sign' ? Does that not make our negotiation team and Wenger look shit?
Most of the premiere matchups involving Arsenal now start at 430 AM for us West Coasters. Maybe I'm not as committed as others, but this year I've seen no reason to get up at that hour to watch this insipid product.
Exactly I cant even be bothered at 1230 pm so fair play for u guys getting up early Shit product to watch and be emotionally invested in
I just DVR all the games now. I'll watch for a little while and see how it's going and then just fast forward until something good happens. Haven't had to stop fast forwarding much lately.
He's had years of major resources now, just like the other big boys and girls. And he still is getting exposed tactically by operators with less to work with on a smaller scale. He's been hailed as a mastermind without due cause. His boss is, at best, absentee, and at worst, has totally lost the plot. He's been presiding over mediocrity for years, with no major titles to his name. And today is just the icing on the cake. That's exactly right friends, I'm talking about Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. And for all of our sakes, while this dumpster fire of a party has a majority, I'm team #PaulRyanIn. Mediocrity we can all count on.
It's the interlull, it's a Friday, and Republican congressmen are hurrying each other to self-immolate faster. I feel entitled.
If we're talking about the same evil turtle, dude is low-key one of the greatest tactical parliamentarians of the past fifty years, despite how much I loathe him.
It's annoying seeing Athletico, BvB and Monaco Lately get better developed unknowns or youths than we do. AW has abandoned France for British talent at the worst time. We're likely to sign Redmond more than Mbappe or Lamar.
Careful what you wish for. Though one could argue that Wenger is Clement: good (but not OMG) track record, does what he wants, doesn't care what other people think.
I have been thinking about that as well. One way Wenger would pull his arse from the fire when top players left was to bring new stars though the dev cycle. So for instance Fab, Flam, Hleb and Ade peaked with a bang in 2007 van Persie became elite. Ramsey had a break out season. etc I think one reason this no longer happens is that he can no longer buy those elite talents at young ages for cut price. Belllerin is maybe the only exciting guy who has come thru?
Hasn't Real Madrid, Barca, Man U, all got top players who were forced out, or left on the wayside? Barca's transfer model is high-turnover, bar Messi, Iniesta and other core players. Same with Real Madrid. Di Maria left Real Madrid to to go Man U, and he in turn left Man U. I don't see that as a slight on us, just how modern football works. Ibra was forced out of Barca, he's done OK for himself since then. You mention Ozil, but he too was forced out.
