His ball control is so poor

    Effective contribution though

He's better than most 16 year olds for sure but if we are pinning our hopes on him and at 19 we are trying to hype him because he is surviving in the Eredevisie then it will be problematic.

I think very few 19 year olds will be good enough to start for Madrid if we have title ambitions. Like once in a generation talent like Mbappe or a Raul who's smarter than most veterans as a teenager and had a clam head on his shoulders. Asensio is turning 22 in January. I don't think Vinicius will be ready before he's 20-21. He needs couple of seasons of regular football to develop.

We buy em young because the risks are lower. Not because we expect em to join us asap and score a winner in champions league final

Curious question. If management can't find a worthy striker option in the winter break, should they risk it and bring Vinicius as an option? Discuss.

They can't, Vinicius can't join before he turns 18.

    Flamengo coach Reinaldo Rueda:

"He was fundamental. He has improved a lot. He is more a team player, less nervous, and is improving, maturing.

"For us it is very positive that Vinicius can break open games for us in important moments."

I think he needs to be at loan for at least 2-3 more years.

I think he needs to join for pre season next year and the staff will see where he's at.

He has feinting ability. We need that. But his accuracy / precision needs work. Another 6 months of should do wonders for him.

If he is comfortable where he is and how he’s being utilised then I would keep him in Brazil a little longer.

Keep him in Brazil? He barely gets any minutes. 4 starts,21! sub appearances. 705 minutes in the league.

We can’t bring him to Europe in the summer, it’s already agreed that he’ll spend 2018-2019 on loan at Flamengo.

Not sure if the playing surface for the reason of his piss poor control or passing but if not, those two aspects need work on. Pronto.

I have really seen nothing that justifies that 40M. Control on the ball seems terrible, needs 5 seconds before he has the ball under control. Nothing even near Neymar at that age.

Odegaard 5M has a better touch, dribble and vision.

I agree, but his pace and strength for a 17-year-old is still pretty remarkable.

In 1 year's time you're going to see massive growth. All he needs is playing time and this year he will get it. He seems raw in a lot of areas, but he also seems to possess more talent than everyone around him. He's not putting in a Ronaldo highlight reel, but you get the sense that he can be dangerous every time they feed him

I really don't see the hype tbh. His passing is the stuff of nightmares. Still SUPER raw. But yet again ,you can't expect everybody to be like Mbappe and develop so early. Perhaps his passing will improve in the next 3-4 years.
