Wasn't one of the MNT send-off games played in Cary, North Carolina, about three months ago? I'm sure it was more than the 11,361 you have on your list.
Nebraska -- 8/30/2002 college women North Carolina @ Nebraska, 4,830 http://tarheelblue.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/recaps/083002aaa.html Creighton's men's team may have exceeded this. Their stadium has a 6,000 capacity, but I don't know how close they have come to filling it. Rhode Island -- 5/4/1918 US Open Cup final Fall River vs. Bethlehem Steel, Pawtucket, 13,000 http://www.rsssf.com/tablesu/usacuphist.html
Wow, it's cool that we've made so much progress already. Now for Nevada, 9,736 is the best so far. The NASL's Las Vegas Quicksilvers only averaged 7k for 13 games, but surely their opener was probably close to that or better. It would be great if somebody had that info.
I don't consider indoor to be "real soccer," but I guess for this it should count. It won't hold more than a handful of records, and all will surely be surpassed in the future.
Arizona: 32,466 - Mexico/Hungary - Friendly - 12/14/05 Link: http://www.azstarnet.com/sports/107122 This appears to be the biggest crowd of the three friendlies the Mexies have played at the erstwhile BOB. A 2003 match with Colombia drew 28,764, and a 2002 match with Yugoslavia drew around 25K Interliga matches there in 2005 only drew 15K, but I don't know if there might be another club friendly out there that topped the Hungary match...

I recall that the Delaware Wizards drew about 3K hosting the Tony Meola-led Long Island Rough Riders in a USISL match in 1995, but I can't find a mention to the exact crowd on the web. Kenn?
Don't have much data going back to 1995. It's spotty. Some stuff I have in abundance, other stuff, not so much. That's part of the not so much.
http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20060813&content_id=69015&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp 45,511 in SLC tonight.
http://www.montanagrizzlies.com/content/facilities/southcampusstadium.htm According to this, the largest crowds to ever watch a University of Montana women's soccer match (who I presume are the biggest soccer draws in the state) is 1,100 against BYU in 1999.
Centennial Field in Burlington, VT allegedly has a capacity of 5,000. I know I've been there when it's close to full for UVM games and high school state championships, not to mention the students sitting on rooftops and in trees on the north side of the field. Now to find some numbers...
Just browsing along, came across this thread and it immediately jogged the memory of the Revolution playing an exhibition in Portland back when I was in college up in Maine. A quick google finds an attendance of 4,254 for the Revs/Montreal Dynamites back in 2001. http://www.soccermaine.com/pages/01_revs_in_portland.html
I dont know if numbers will be easy to find for the HS games, but the crowds for UVM's 1989 NCAA run (wins at home against UConn and Yale) are described as 'overflowing'. I couldn't find a number documented online anywhere though. I've sent a note to the UVM sports department. We'll see if they respond.
Here's what I heard back from the guy at Univ of Vermont. Unfortunately, sounds like they just recorded the max attendance, rather than what was likely an actually higher number. Still, at least the 5000 figure is documented: "I checked our files and the attendance for both the UConn and Yale games in 1989 was listed at 5,000. I was not working here at the time but I was at both games. There could have been more people at the game. Our grandstand, from when we had old football, is only on one side of the field. It was full and there were people 2-3 deep along the end zone fences. Across the way there were a row of trees and there were a lot people in the trees!"
North Carolina's record is 24,000, the capacity of American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte. The Carolina Lightnin' beat New York for the championship of the old ASL. Someone asked earlier, Creighton average around 2200. So they could have broken that Nebraska record in tournement play.
http://www.uvm.edu/~sportspr/?Page=faccentennial.html&SM=facilitiesmenu.html Their official website says that the Vermont 1989 games drew over 5,000 spectators.
Right. I think that's been established. When I wrote to their SID, I was hoping they had an actual figure in their records somewhere. Unfortunately, the only information available is >5000.
This could very well be the largest crowd to watch a sporting event in Vermont. I don't think any minor league baseball game has reached 5,000 yet, and it seems like Centennial Field has always been the largest stadium in Vermont.
Could be the case. The maximum capacity for hockey at Gutterson is around 4000 and for basketball at Patrick Gym is even less. I don't know what kind of crowds they used to get way back when UVM still had a football team, but those games were played at Centennial as well, so it couldn't have been much more. The only other significant Vermont sports venue I can think of is Thunder Road for stock car racing. It has two large stacks of cement bleachers plus a lot of room for people to sit on the grass. I couldn't find any information on what the maximum capacity or record attendance is there, however.
