I don't think they were playing particularly well in the 2nd half of last year to be honest. But Moises actually makes a difference and he is injured. No excuses with that roster though.
Better than Fla did, especially down the stretch. GJ and Moises may make a difference, but like you said (and the media), you're supposed to have the deepest roster in the country. I heard someone on ESPN say that Palmeiras could have fielded a team with 11 "reserves" that would have beaten Ponte, given their roster depth.
I'd like to get your thoughts on this @Century's Best and on the incident itself. It seems like Rogerio is starting to feel the pressure...
My head says that Rodrigo Caio was a gentleman, an example to be followed. My heart says that in malandragem-infested Brazilian soccer, to do what he did is counterproductive. As for Rogério Ceni, I like him. A lot. He means very much to all SPFC fans... but he wasn't the man for the job. Even managers whom we today would not want anywhere near our clubs but who nonetheless built successful careers in Brazil's clubs (Vanderlei Luxemburgo and Luis Felipe Scolari come to mind) started in more modest teams. They needed to pick up experience. Luxemburgo's first coaching job was at Campo Grande. Scolari's was at CSA. Granted, Scolari had last played at CSA the year before he became manager, but CSA isn't as big as SPFC is. Both of these managers took years and many clubs before big-name clubs gave them chances. And has Ceni taken courses or "apprenticed" under seasoned coaches? He hasn't. I'm frustrated because while Ceni appeared to be leading the team on the right path based on our play, the team played two awful back-to-back names in state & cup championships and now the odds of reverting the scorelines are very low. If SPFC is eliminated, our semester is over. I can't say it's all his fault. The roster, while good, needs more names. But as for Ceni himself - yes, he's feeling the pressure, and perhaps he wasn't ready for such a big job as managing SPFC. If my team fails in the return matches vs. Cruzeiro & Corinthians, well, at least I have the NT to watch for consolation...
I'm surprised how stress free that match was. Especially with how palmeiras started the first ten minutes. Borja sucks
@Mengão86 you see this Juninho kid on sport play b4 ? I never did until I watched the first leg vs náutico on YouTube today , holy shit.
I've seen about 3-4 games of him -- two clássicos, a Copa Nordeste game and a little of a Sul Americana game. Yeah, he's a guy I'll be curious to watch when the Brasileirão starts up.
A sad weekend wrap up of the State Championships. http://app.globoesporte.globo.com/f...o-policial-fotografo-o-resumao-dos-estaduais/ Watching Inter and Gremio struggling again was hilarious. Inter eeked their way to the final.

You really think he's on par with white Kleber ? And has he reached guinazu levels when he was at vasco ?
I wasn't expecting Corinthians to come out like this. They deserved that first goal and ponte is just waking up
Im not understanding why Lucca and pottker aren't taking fagner on 1 on 1 both have had plenty of 1 x 1 oppurtunitss and just took a touch and passed it back to Elton
All three of Inter's GKs are injured and they may have to start an outfield player as a goalie for the second leg of the Gauchao final.
Jô na seleção? Esse é o assunto por aqui #BBdebate @Corinthians— ESPN Brasil (@ESPNBrasil) May 1, 2017 Jesus, ESPN.....
Only as a sub to Fred ... what could go wrong ... Honestly though, Fred would definitely do much better with this team than 2014.
Agreed. But to suggest Jo has a spot on the NT because he's scored a few goals in derbies is pure lunacy -- I hate to say it, but really it's bairrismo.
