It's not like the 2nd season has gotten any better really. So far they've had 1 really good episode and the rest have been really poor or barely tolerable.

Hopefully we're nearing the switch in show runners soon so maybe we'll see a shift in the stories. I'm not holding my breath though.

Oof, that was not a good episode last night. I really don't like what they're doing with Spock.

Also, they keep forgetting about Sybok.

They are going to have William Shatner live on stage after a showing of The Wrath of Khan at the Marin Center theatre a 10 minute walk away from my home. To bad I can't afford spending a month's worth of food to see it.

The real problem is that s that you're not a millenial, so you didn't think to start a GoFund Me account, which you would then promote on multiple platforms like Twitter, Instagram, your Youtube video diary, and of course bigsoccer, via an older relative.

Just watched the latest episode and I think it keeps getting better and better. Certainly the most enjoyable Trek season since the 4th season of Voyager

I saw Airiam was in the mess during the stand-off and fight between Ash Tyler and Hugh Culber 2.0. I honestly thought she was purely robotic, but the fact she has to eat seems to disprove that. What exactly is she?

She's a human that's been augmented, this is according to last seasons show runners.

But it appears the infected probe has taken over her consciousness? Which seems kind of weird if she is still partially human.

Did the environmental suits they wore on the away mission remind anyone else of "Mass Effect: Andromeda"?

BTW, Burnam did not even give Commander Nhan a glance when her breathing implant was ripped out, even though her life was just as much in danger as Lt. Commander Airiam.

My first initial thought was it is weird Pike was telling the away team they could beam them out any second to then just watch his security chief die lying on the floor and Airiam and Burnham fighting it out. Should have beamed both out firing photon torpedoes destroying both control and Airiam. But that would not have carried on with the story as easily, I guess.

    Still enjoyed the episode

Airiam was pretty cool in her last episode. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this season's actress is different than last season?

Yes, different actress this season. I thought that the Airiam character was handled poorly, always a background character and then all of a sudden they build her up in this episode and then that happens. You know she wasn't going to last long after that. Am I supposed to feel something for a character that was ignored for the past season and a half?

the last few episodes she had a few more lines than usual. I thought it was kinda neat to kill of a minor character. For sure, it couldn't be a major character so early (other than the Doc who returned recently).

Yeah, that's another thing. He dies, the rescue him and then he's ignored for a few episodes. I know the focus on the show is Burnham, but I don't think they handle the writing very well. Now granted, I believe this season so far has still been under the old show runners, so I have some hope it will get better once the episodes air from the new show runner.

You have a solid point. There needs to be a greater focus on the rest of the crew. I didn't have so much of a problem in season 1, but i am a bit annoyed we still only get glimpses of everyone else; though they have done far better in recent episodes.

I'm glad someone ended up including Suder into this thread. A tragic figure and underrated Star Trek character who is memorable largely thanks to Brad Dourif's performance.
