Playing 5 games in 16 days for the u20, immediately traveling from Jamaica to Qatar, and being thrown straight into a match isn't exactly optimal conditions for a tryout.
You figure it's one of those look-see type of trials. Matt would probably have a better chance of getting PT in Austria with Salzburg anyway. PS. The fact that Rangnick speaks fluent English - the guy studied astrophysics at the University of Sussex - is a big plus too. That must have helped with Stevie Cherundolo's integration with Hannover 96 that was then managed by Ralfie.
Source: Miazga made "good impression" on Stuttgart during NYCFC match. Felt he played well against David Villa.— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) July 2, 2015 Sounds like interest in Miazga from Stuttgart at the least, but MLSTranfers also reports Swansea and and Bochum (2. Bundesliga) have also demonstrated interest.
A different report from an actual newspaper has Swansea scouting him: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...s/swansea-city-transfer-rumours-garry-9545279 I was at the NYCFC/Red Bulls game, and he definitely made an impression, at least to my amateur eye
That report cites nothing but "reports in America" and while anything is certainly possible, are there other reports here besides the MLS Transfers one?
Why would it belong there? Miazaga is a full professional and is unlike to move to the youth team in Europe.
When they split the forums all transfer rumor threads were supposed to go into the Academy forum. When the player actually play in a first division game (or certain 2nd divisions) the thread would be moved to the main page. That's why people are saying this thread belongs in the Academy forum.
I am pretty sure his having been a first teamer in MLS means that, once Miazga signs, he gets a thread in the main forum, regardless of where he starts with his as-yet-hypothetical new team.
I, OP, don't care where it is. I posted it because threads like these: http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/nedin-zukanovic-to-europe.1989319/ http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/bismark-agyeman-to-sc-braga.1996063/ With similar titles are still on here. If the mods actually want to clean these threads up, by all means let them, I for one felt Miazga was more at place on this board compared to those two.
Oh, so it's MY fault! Occasionally I bump threads that were created pre-forum split. I suppose I could request a move at the same time.
I second this. The kid who runs that account either just reposts rumors from real ITK journalists or just flat out makes things up that might sound logical. There should be a rule here that if the only "source" is MLSTransfers, then no thread should be made.
When asked about the report, the usually transparent Marsch went opaque, issuing a quick and simple “no comment.”
Maybe everyone else knows this, but Miazga has Polish citizenship, and Poland is a member of the EU, so there's no work permit problem.
You mean NYRB? I'm not so sure about that. This is his 3rd year as a pro. The standard MLS contract is 4 years. It's probably a choice between getting Britton from Swansea in exchange for a year and a half of Matt. If they can swing a Yedlin-esque loan for the rest of the season, then it's definitely a good trade for NYRB, if you buy my assumption that they won't be able to hold onto Matt after 2016 anyway. This veteran would spend a few months mentoring Matt, he spends a half season in England getting used to things there, and then he's ready to make the first team in August 2016.
