Down 1-0 at the half. I didn't bother to start a game day thread because my soul couldn't take the empty sense of hearbreaking loneliness...

Defender threads aren’t sexy... though it is ironic many people online are dying for a young player to go to Europe/Eredivisie specifically to develop... but then there is seemingly little interest in watching the games (not a shot at anyone just an observation)

Of course, they're probably not watching them in MLS either.

Matt is interesting to watch for a defender: he goes forward a lot, and is always around the box for the corners and most free kicks. I haven't followed him of late, but overall I got a good impression of him finding good places to help the attack, and decent at the back.

Sometimes he's caught out of position though, not returning fast enough.

  6. If he doesnot he risks being benched;). It happened to Payne, who the coach thought he didnot contribute enough to the attack, in favour of Hateboer.

TBF, Ered games can be harder to get in the states. I look for them and use a VPN and they're still not always easy. But yeah, guitarist, singers, sprinters and CFs get all the chicks. And as a slow, drum playing, left back, I object.

a drum player? man its true then, literally anyone can play left back. I guess its time for me to go home and rethink my life.

Tip: many, many soccer games are available in YouTube in some country.

So all you need is a way to find in what country (use Reddit) and a browser extension that allows you to spoof your location to that country (manual geolocation, all you need are the right coordinates).

Vittese/MM take on Sparta today with interim coach. Fraser was fired a few day ago. I'm not going to start a gameday as I doubt I'll watch.

Shoulda watched this on - and bet on it!

Fraser was clearly holding Vitesse back. They win 7-0. Biggest home win in club history, maybe? (erd win) Fastest goal in the erd in a long bit.

MM came off at 71 for vdWerff fwiw. It was well in the bag by then. Our buddy lars ratings:

apropos of nothing I'd like to see Emo in the netherlands.

low-res hi-lites. I'm sure MM is in there someplace. He got no assists. (vdW assisted Linssen's last goal.)

  16. He tried to get into a fight. Buttner elbowed down Kramer and Kramer while lying on the ground kicked his studs into Buttner's face.

Matt needs to be taught that when your club scores 7 goals, you need to be in on it.

22 in and it's 2-1 AZ already! (Edit - 2-1 against Vitesse, read it wrong.)

WTF - Vitesse have been unleashed. They're still down 3-2 at the Half, but they've scored more goals in last couple of games than entire century... ok, not quite, but still.

What's ironic about that? I can think that a player's best developmental path might lead him to the Eredivise, but not want to waste my precious free time chasing internet streams on B-level football.
