My wishes are pretty basic and are mostly satisfied by Mapfre. - impeccable grass playing surface - good sightlines from every seat - variety of concessions at reasonable prices - easy and quick entrance and exit to stadium - no long lines or wait times at concession stands
Regarding the safe standing: Lockable bleachers, but keep a section on the sides for olde fartes, kids and others who may want the atmosphere without the need to stand for the entire time. Some may say this is soft, hut more numbers are always a good thing. Maybe open the pub early for STH and keep it STH-only during games...something like what Nationwide has. Season ticket holders can access it in advance of the stadium opening early and it can be a getaway during games, but opening to the public a certain time after the game. And the pub better be all ages.
If you have certain percentage of fans staying after the games, then you don't need as many exits. This was something that was realized early on at the current place, but since there's nothing to do after games, you need to either beat the traffic or bring your own post-game enjoyment.
Well, I'd like that at my workplace too, but good luck with that. Hey, maybe we just need a transporter--it would give folks the "sparkles" they want....
I have only been to TFC, Philly's and Orlando Stadiums and I think Orlando's stadium is nicer. If we get something like Orlando's stadium I think people will like it, unlike Orlando and Philly you can't stick around and do something after the game, I had several Disney cast members tell us that we shouldn't hang around after the game. At Orlando we got seats at the West Side Club Seats which gave us Beer and Food Included at the West Premium Club, the Beer was only Coors Lite and Bud Lite but free beer is free beer, imagine the upper 90 club but better and you can hang out at the balcony and watch the game eating and drinking. They had 3 Buffet tables also included with the ticket. TFC has a club like orlando it was enclosed so you couldn't see the game thru windows like Orlando. I have read here that Sporting does have a special STH bar where you can see the players walk out and the post match press conference is right next to it. I think Sporting is one of the better Stadiums in MLS from what i read. I think Houston's was built for 100 million. I would be very happy with a Orlando type Stadium, The one thing I like about going to different MLS stadiums is you see how they learned from other Stadiums and built from that. I plan on going to Sporting.
I'm not entirely sure this is a good idea, given the fact that it's a bit of a problem now with too many people avoiding their seats in favor of not being in a place where the camera can show them.
Given the location's proximity to the Scioto Trail, a bike corral would be tremendous, especially since they could work with Yay Bikes to have attendants 'guarding' it.
Barely visit is a new pedestrian bridge which, on the west side, looks like it links up with the current bike trail.
Still hoping for cooperation with COTA to get an express line to to downtown and then a bus to get to the stadium before and after game days.
Eh... I'm not a fan of something moving me at high speed and no human oversight. Give me a human driven bus every day of the week. I also sent my suggestion to COTA through their website.
