Do you have the pic of a renovated GG thats floating around ? It looked pretty cool. The corners were filled in and they were a different color than the current stands.
Geoffroy-Guichard will be renovated so no new stadium. http://news.maxifoot.com/info-099091_90702/football.php
The Strasbourg stadium plan has fallen through. http://news.maxifoot.com/info-099155_90703/football.php
70,000 seats plus roof for the Velodrome http://www.football365.fr/france/in...marseille-Feu-vert-au-nouveau-Velodrome.shtml
AGAIN???? if every renovation announced for that s***hole came true it would have a million seats by now!
Marcel-Picot (Nancy) from 20.000 to 35.000 seats http://www.football365.fr/france/infos-clubs/nancy/article_334440_l1-nancy-Picot-va-s-agrandir.shtml
Only 1 city from the northeast for Euro 2016 I think. Metz or Nancy. 1 will miss out. I dont think both will get it. Strasbourg is already out obviously. Too bad.
Definitive project for Le Havre (25.000 seats). I like it. Even without the blue Photoshop effects (it's a rule: you must put blue Photoshop effects on the views of a future stadium).
Since Nantes has no plans to upgrade La Beaujoire, does that mean Rennes will now upgrade its stadium or will Brittany miss out on Euro 2016 completely ? Stade Route de Lorient was already upgraded a few years ago to 30,000 seats and I dont see them upgrading again to 40,000 +. Looks like the northwest will miss out on Euro 2016. Stade Route de Lorient will not get picked if its not renovated.
I think it will be: Stade de France (80 000) Parc des princes (54 000 ?) Vélodrome (70 000 ?) OL Land (55 000) Stade de Lille (55 000) Nouveau stade bordelais (42 000 ?) Stade de Nice (40 000) Saint-Symphorien (35 000) Geoffroy-Guichard ou Bollaert (50 000 ??)
since when does a stadium need to seat 40,000 to host a euro match? i thought the requirement was 30,000 and even that is excessive for many matches. as for la beaujoire and nantes, i don't see the utility of any renovation. le jeu à la nantaise is already history, and nantes as a top level club is following. and historically, rennes IS the grander of the two clubs. the glory days of les canaris seem to have been a blip. a big one, but still a blip.
The UEFA does not just demands 30.000 seats per stadium but also many security and comfort facilities. That's why La Beauj' can't host the Euro for now despite of their 38.000 seats. You're right, spending 80M in a renovation or 150M in a new stadium makes no sense as long as Nantes is no more a football club. We need large stadiums not only for the Euro but for the clubs too ! The ticket selling had made a boom in France since 1990 ! At this time there was 30.000 people in average in the Vélodrome for 40.000 seats; they are now 52.000 for 58.000 effective seats ! Idem for many clubs. I think a club like Brest deserves a 30.000 seats stadium instead of their 10.000 ruin.
La Beaujoire is one of my favorite stadiums. Its only around 25 years old and probably doesnt need much work done to get it up to par. I am not ready to bury FC Nantes just yet and I think they will be back among the elite some day. They have not fallen as far as St. Etienne has. Even though Klasnic was a bust I hope to see them sign another high profile player when they come back up.
well said i think a city like Brest could and would bulid any size stadium alot more easyer than nantes or rennes cause the city would like to rebuild and upgrade as far as things to do like LEHAVRE why not build a 40k in brest to go along with all the new buildings???? its like 50's 70's post world war buildings in brest alot of the city has them plus i love there castle in the city!
Mayor of Paris says the Parc de Princes will be renovated by the time of the Euros. http://news.maxifoot.com/info-102912_90916/football.php
