What kind of resources do these two have to put into a club? Glavin's a former pro player who started (I think) a youth soccer outfit in the mid-90s and has had a not terribly successful PDL team since 2005 or so. I don't know much about the other guy, who owns the indoor team.

I wonder what that ring was from. His two MISL teams are a combined 5-31 (on their way to 5-35) and the team in Reading is the worst in indoor history. I don't have a real good handle on all of the teams he has owned, I wonder which of them won something.
Based on his bio, I would guess it's his high school class ring. Nothing prepares you better for the rigors of professional sports management like a HS diploma
I think he got that ring when 1 of his indoor football teams won a championship at least I read that somewhere
Possibility For Pro Soccer In St. Louis Being Kicked Around Looks like there won't be a major announcement this week.
Wait, I was told there would be an announcement in February. On or around February 27. But I don't know anybody.
Come on Kenn. You can't see their marketing strategy? They're building anticipation and momentum, just like the OC Blues did with their "big announcement". I heard the major news networks are staking out real estate for their news vans. Three days to go, the energy is palpable!!! Feels reminiscent of Anchorman, Ron Burgundy...... "Panda Watch. The mood is tense; I have been on some serious, serious reports but nothing quite like this. I uh... Ching... King is inside right now. I tried to get an interview with him, but they said no, you can't do that he's a live bear, he will literally rip your face off."
Apparently there is some stuff set up at the St. Louis Ambush game tonight Look what we have here. @StLouisLions @StLouisAmbush @STLProSoccer pic.twitter.com/Hb3CwNZNGM— St.Louligans ☠️ (@StLouligans) February 28, 2014 Chupacabra sighting at Family Arena. pic.twitter.com/hiIrP4jYXq— St.Louligans ☠️ (@StLouligans) February 28, 2014
Okay, serious question, then: if Andrew Haines is apparently pulling his indoor team out of USL (along with, apparently, the other MISL teams), would that make it slightly awkward for the outdoor team he is supposedly backing to be in USL Pro?
Sigh... still nothing, huh? I'd love to be proven wrong but I have this sinking feeling that Andrew Haines is going to make Jeff Cooper look like Roman Abramovich. They're partying in Atlanta tonight while St. Louis is clutching at quotes like "Based on the interest we’ve been getting on the website we're hopeful it will be successful" about the faint possibility of a third-division team. That little spark of publicity in February has fizzled to nothing, which doesn't bode well for STL Pro Soccer's ability to do things. Even their placeholder Twitter and Facebook accounts stopped posting anything weeks ago. Sad, man. Just sad. Well, not just sad. Also frustrating and baffling and depressing. But mostly sad. (DISCLAIMER: I don't live in St. Louis anymore but I did for 36 years. I have as much right to my traditional St. Louis pessimism as anybody else.)
From the Saginaw area and Andrew Haines isn't the answer. He was a mess of an owner at the very least. Feel blessed if it falls through
At this point I would prefer we don't get a USL team until there is more stability in the market both in ownership, and USL. However, if people are interested in Soccer in St. Louis I would say to check out FC Bordo St. Louis. It is only NPSL, but the owner seems to be very down to earth and wanting soccer to succeed in STL.
There might actually be some news (FINALLY!) to report tomorrow. And from what I hear, NO, it is not the Glavin/Haines group that is owning this franchise.
