well both cities are named after King Louis (who was a french king) so it makes sense, but like someone else posted if New Orleans and Quebec had been awarded an expansion club they would likely have used the fleur de lis in their crests to. It's a shared history that the 4 cities have.
not really just hope their clash kits aren't the green kits so when they come to Oklahoma City to play the Energy (whose home kits are the green kits) it won't be green playing green lol. Shouldn't be an issue though most the refs make sure that both teams aren't wearing matching kitsotherwise it's confusing for them
Nice. Here: Wayne Estopinal just said a new logo is coming for Louisville City FC. Who's designing? You. Will be an open contest.— Jonathan Lintner (@JonathanLintner) June 4, 2014
according to this the winning logo will be announced Monday June 9th. Gotta love the speed and efficiency the fo goes about it's business. It's better than other clubs (cough, Tulsa Roughnecks FC, Cough) http://uslpro.uslsoccer.com/home/814820.html
Logo's already been leaked (cough, oil derrick, cough) but if I were a betting man, I'd wager they'll sit on it until it magically shows up on the big screen tv for the USA-Portugal watch party they're planning at ONEOK.
I wasn't trying to be insulting that was a rough draft of a crest that some graphic artist had posted on the roughnecks facebook page, and the way you were describing the crest it sounded like some sort of polished version of it. That's why I asked. You wouldn't happen to know when their big "reveal" is would you ?
I didn't see it... guess they showed it at a meeting of potential supporters... the big "reveal" would probably be on the 22nd, but I'm only guessing.
Those names are not that great either or don't roll that well. My favorite St. Louis franchise name was the St. Louis Athletica in WPS. I would have been nice to have the team called St. Louis Athletic. I actually was a bit disappointed with the team using a generic moniker like St. Louis FC. These so called "traditional" names get boring after a while. At least they didn't call it St. Louis City.
