If Vlachodimos has a good campaign, then he should get a call up and be capped by the NT. Especially since he is also eligible for Greece and I'm sure their FA would be interested.

With Trapp and Karius now stuck in purgatory, Vlachodimos could end up being a third option behind Neuer and ter Stegen. Leno could be a factor as well if he does well at Arsenal. While with Köln relegated, Horn falls off the radar.

these seem to be the candidates
    -Neuer is aging,
-ter Stegen is likely future #1
-Karius and Trapp are in limbo
-Ulreich is back on the bench being Bayern's 2nd keeper
-Leno has to impress in a new league otherwise could risk losing his spot
-Baumann and Fahrmann don't seem to be rated by Low, although will he still ignore them even if they play and perform in CL?

Vlachodimos took another route went to Greece and established himself there. His performances/consistency attracted attention of a better league and club. Although one wonders if Greece FA ever approached him while he played in Greece? that was the perfect chance. Of course he has to perform/impress in Portugal and CL could put him on the map.

Zieler is a former selection and could be a third or fringe option again if needed. Stuttgart also came off a relatively competitive campaign.

Marvin Schwäbe has started the Danish league season with Brondby already and so far has 2 clean sheets in the first 4 matches. Wonder if he can take a similar route as Vlachodimos by proving himself abroad and gradually earning a spot and chance at a higher level league.

Concern continues to be GKs who are born 96 and later, and who can establish themself as a bonafide number 1 choice for their club and perform at a high level first.

GK has always been the most complicated position for a player to breakthrough. As too many keepers get better with age and they last longer than outfield players. Too often have to rely on injuries and poor form from other keepers to get chances.

in terms of 96-onwards, most of them are either 2nd or 3rd keepers+Reserves.

guys who fit that age bracket who seem to be starters.
    F.Muller-1BL
    Schubert-2BL
    Rehnen and Korber-3rd Liga

I think at Kiel, Weiner or Reimann are there to eventually take over from Kronholm who turns 33 soon. Also weird that Weiner seems to be 3rd keeper as he plays in reserves but wears the Kiel #1 jersey.

not 96-onwards but very close 95-Fabian Bredlow seems to be FCN's #1. Wellenreuther is another 95 who seems to be #1 at Willem II.

I wouldn't mind this move as he could be a starter and Serie A is the only big league without a German keeper.

his options are limited, unlikely to be PSG 1st choice and everyone in Germany/Spain/England already have keepers.

Ter Stegen with a penalty save at the 90th min, as Barcelona end up winning the Spanish Super Cup 2-1 vs Sevilla.

these coaches have 0 confidence in players, Bredlow was #1 last season for FCN helping them get promotion. While Mathenia gets benched by Pollersbeck and even leaves Hamburg. So basically Mathenia is favored because they spent money on him and because he has 1BL experience.

so how is GK supposed to get chances in 1BL when 2BL experience isn't enough for some coaches?

Vlachodimos's Benfica advances after going through 2-1 to the Playoff Round League Path were they will face Greece's PAOK. Win that 2 leg tie and they make the GS.

good to see a young keeper being #1 it's rarer these days. And Mainz actually trusted him last season while he was only 20.

in the Anton becoming captain announcement.

it was also said that 30 year old Michael Esser is Hannover's new #1 taking the spot of 32 year old Philipp Tschauner.

Karius's career goes down the drain as long as he's in Turkey.

meanwhile Rensing has been made FD's #1. Guy hasn't played 1BL since 2012-2013 season. Picked over Wolf who hasn't played 1BL since 2014-2015. But sheesh Rensing is already 34 and turns 35 at the end of the season, how times flies.

Baumann could be a sensible 3rd keeper option among the NT

Marvin Schwäbe conceded 5 goals in Brondby's 2-5 loss to Genk. Brondby fans on Twitter are less than pleased to say the least.

Timon Wellenreuther kept a clean sheet last weekend as Willem II won 1-0 vs FC Groningen.

Wonder between the two 95'ers, Wellenreuther and Schwäbe, who will end up having the better season.
