Philip Max can't defend as of now...he has to defend well first in order to be considered a good fullback...his high assist numbers do not represent his defending abilities...
Tobias Pachonik who's attracting 1BL, Eredivisie, and Serie A interest (although he seems to prefer going to Serie A). provided his 3rd assist of the season in a 1-1 draw in Serie B.
Tobias Pachonik has been named the best defender in Serie B in Italy this season, playing as RB for Carpi FC. http://www.fussballtransfers.com/nachricht/serie-b-pachonik-ausgezeichnet_91053

Nico Schulz is Kicker's top rated Bundesliga fullback: http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...neuling-schulz-stoesst-kimmich-vom-thron.html
Schulz is a guy I've been thinking about recently given our LB issue. Plattenhardt isn't good enough and Hector will be in 2BL. Give guys like Schulz, Halstenberg, and Max a shot. Although Halstenberg won't be ready for Nations League but the other 2 aren't an issue.
Philipp Max: Has made more key passes (12) than any other player in the Bundesliga this seasonFor more player stats -- https://t.co/FSSspW2Nt5 pic.twitter.com/qTHMqPFnk3— WhoScored.com (@WhoScored) September 17, 2018
This season for LBs, I'd rank 1) Schulz 2) Halstenberg 3) Gosens 4) Max. Fallen off course is Plattenhardt For RBs, 1) Kimmich 2) Da Costa 3) Weiser 4) Klostermann. While Henrichs has fallen off course I wonder if Dortmund will continue to develop Marius Wolf into the role of RB, and whether he'll be good enough at this position in a couple years to be a serious option or consideration
Stephan Kuntz sees Klostermann as one for the NT in the future http://www.fussballtransfers.com/nachricht/kuntz-sieht-klostermann-im-low-team_101879
If Kimmich plays midfield again in the upcoming NT matches, maybe Klostermann could make his debut already? The other options would be Ginter, Da Costa or Weiser. Of those I would probably prefer Da Costa as he's looking good in the EL as well as the BL. Kehrer looked terrible in the CL for PSG playing RB and shouldn't be called up imo.
Kilian Ludewig since returning from injury in late February has been starting steadily for FC Liefering (RB Salzburg's farm team in Ösi second division). Also registered an assist a couple weeks ago. Salzburg still have Stefan Lainer and an older back up RB, but if Ludewig makes progressions he could be an option to be integrated in a season or two. https://www.transfermarkt.com/kilian-ludewig/leistungsdaten/spieler/361516
Marius Wolf's match rating in Dortmund's win vs Hertha: https://www.fearthewall.com/2019/3/17/18269596/match-ratings-borussia-dortmund-3-2-hertha-berlin Marius Wolf: 7 I’ve criticized Wolf in recent weeks for his delivery, but he actually put some decent balls into the box yesterday. His most notable was an incisive cutback the found Christian Pulisic in the center of the box, which the young American scuffed wide.

Zenit were interested in Plattenhardt at the January transfer window but the offer was rejected by Hertha http://www.fussballtransfers.com/nachricht/zenit-probierte-es-bei-plattenhardt_102117
Plattenhardt's performances have fallen off this season which Dardai has noticed, and needs to show more improvements https://www.morgenpost.de/sport/hertha/article216720189/Pal-Dardai-Marvin-kann-mehr.html
The second consecutive lost season for Felix Passlack https://www.ruhr24.de/bvb/felix-passlack-ernuechternde-leih-bilanz-bei-norwich-city-176054/
Juventus have reportedly sent scouts to watch Maxi Mittelstädt https://www.transfermarkt.de/m-mitt...m/154/thread_id/1039548/page/1#anchor_2524443
I think both times he got screwed over. At Hoff it seemed like he might not have suited there with Nagelsmann and then Norwich, Farke confessed that what he as a coach did ended up going against Passlack. He said that he played Passlack non stop in Summer friendlies because he didn't play much high level football at Hoff but then when season started he thought he overdid it with Passlack so played others next thing you know he falls off the depth chart for RB. Thruth he should have left in Winter not sure why he stayed there for the season. But he has played more top level football at Norwich than Hoff that's for sure. Next season needs to go to 2BL for sure, I'm sure there will be interest. Shame that it means we shouldn't expect Passlack in 1BL until like he's around 23-25. Turns 22 after the end of next season, unless he ends up going to a club who end up with 1BL promotion. loans is very important a player goes to the right place otherwise it ends up being wasted seasons. as for Mittelstadt he scored in that game vs France U21 that they scouted but no way should he leave. This is his 3rd pro season but 1st where he's a starter.
Juventus probably the best club atm in terms of full back. No way Mittlestadt will be 1st choice with Alex Sandro and Cancelo in the roster.
