Article on Maxi Mittelstädt, who reportedly is one of the top rising players on Hertha's squad in recent weeks. https://mobil.berliner-zeitung.de/s...-der-gewinner-der-vergangenen-wochen-28987972
Germany's best LB? Hector, Max, Plattenhardt, Halstenberg, and Schmelzer. https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/...products&utm_term=english&utm_content=article
If Hector is able to get back into form in the Rückrunde, he'll get chosen because of his NT experience. I guess Jogi might give Halstenberg having a slight edge on Plattenhardt at this point. I'd like to see Max get a chance for friendlies and training camp though. Offensively, he has the highest upside. Schmelzer won't be a factor.
I recall Schmelzer said something like Low doesn't like him or rate him. Yeah he's a non factor. Think Max and any other new player's last chance are the March Brazil/Spain friendlies. If you aren't called up for those, I don't think those players will have a shot even if it sucks. Jogi wants to win another WC, between the CC/WC squads and others he has so many players to choose from that surprise call ups in May seem slim.
Max moving to a larger club would also help his profile. Augsburg isn't known to be somewhere that Löw keeps a watch on. Maybe a summer transfer could be in the cards for him as I'm sure he's drawn attention after this strong campaign. I guess Max is the LB version of Selke, where 2020 is a more realistic target.
you mean Olympic pals don't you. I would say majority of players that played in the 2016 Olympics and 2017 U21's chances will come post WC. They need to continue impressing as much as possible this season and their chances should come in time. Klostermann for one (also from that Olympic team) has CL football + EL this season. Likely more European football next season as well as a U21 before 2020. Enough tournament and matches to impress and it's not like Kimmich has a back up. So pretty much Max needs to be in a bigger club where he has a chance in Europe. It was a big reason as to why Halstenberg is ahead of him.
Not a NT candidate, but Mainz's Daniel Brosinski is quietly having himself a solid campaign. His 2 assists vs RB Leipzig today gives him 5 now on the season, along with 1 goal in the BL. Brosinski also has 2 goals and 2 assists from 2 Pokal matches so far.
Philipp Max attracting EPL interest. It says Everton, Liverpool, Man U, Spurs. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...x-tracked-Man-United-Liverpool-Tottenham.html not sure I want him to go to EPL, prefer to see him move to a bigger club in Germany over EPL.
Bundesliga should be priority. Gladbach could work for Max when Wendt gets phased out. Same with Leverkusen if they were to sell Wendell. The only EPL club that I wouldnt mind seeing him on is Klopp's Liverpool, since they're looking for someone to play ahead of Moreno.
The all-German fullback match up today in Augsburg vs Hertha. Framberger makes his first start at RB since returning from injury and plays with Max for FCA. While Hertha go with Weiser and Plattenhardt. Mittelstädt also reinforcing the left flank at the wing position.
watching the Hertha-Augsburg game. and honestly Max>>>>>>>Plattenhardt. Max is pretty dangerous whenever he goes forward and is pretty good defensively too.
Philipp Max with his 8th assist of the season, as his corner cross delivery created the chance for Augsburg in their 1-1 draw vs Hertha today.
Jonas Boldt praises Benny Henrichs for his flexibility and performance in filling in as a LB during Leverkusen's most recent win against Stuttgart. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...oldt-lobt-henrichs---und-dieser-herrlich.html
Jonas Hector is making progress on his return and was able to complete his first individual training session on Monday. https://www.ksta.de/sport/1-fc-koel...e-jonas-hector-zurueck-auf-dem-rasen-29278104
Looks like Toljan had a pretty quality performance today, and was one of Dortmund's top players in the win against Mainz. Could be the turnaround point for him this season now that a coaching change has been made.
my suspicion was always new team integration and Bosz were Toljan's problem, at some point. Toljan was fit but still didn't make any squads.......Seems like Bosz didn't rate him or something. but his play from the youth NT/Olympics and Hoffeinheim was actually pretty good. He is a player with potential, I don't expect him to make the WC as it took him too much time to get into this season. But a good rest of the season and post WC could be possible.
Toljan and Henrichs are relatively similar in player profile. They're both versatile rightbacks primarily but can also cover the opposite side if needed. I think Henrichs has the higher ceiling though.
Max with another assist to bring the game to a 2-1. https://imgtc.com/w/rEYRTSm he's already the highest assisting defender in the top 5 leagues I believe!!!
8 - Philipp #Max assisted a league high 8 goals in the #Bundesliga 2017-18 - he provided more assists than any other @FCA_World player in one BL season (Werner & Hahn each with 7 assists 2013-14)! Unselfish. #S04FCA— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) December 13, 2017
Max with assist #9 to bring the game to a 3-2 in injury time and they tied the game again in extra time to make it 3-3. https://imgtc.com/w/vVtqo2l
