Hope Uth does well in CL with Schalke next season, as that is an important criteria for Jogi on NT considerations

one thing is for sure, next season I hope a German striker finally wins that top striker canon. Since I joined this forum, been waiting for that.

last German to win it, 2015 : Alexander Meier (not a striker)
last German striker to win it 2013: Stefan Kiessling

Auba is gone, all you need to do is outperform Lewa and it's likely yours.

That's one thing that could easily make a striker get a NT call up too, if they've never been called up before.

Alex Meier is not a striker??

He was an AM, but apparently played at CF regularly since 29/30

with 2BL being over, Ducksch wins the 2BL top scorer. He and other key players were rested today as Kiel have promotion playoff. So didn't add to his tally.

    ends the season with
18 goals and 11 assists in 33 games.

at 23/24 during the season. I think he's the youngest top scorer since Petersen back in 2010-2011 who was around 22 at the time.

Regarding 2BL, Darmstadt were able to avoid relegation and even ended up finishing in 10th place on final match day lol. Felix Platte will get to stay on this level, although next couple seasons will remain critical for his development.

he ended up with 5 goals but had like 3 different injuries during the season. He really needs to stay injury free next season.

And would be nice to see him hit double figures in 2BL.

Hopefully Platte is able to follow in the footsteps of Füllkrug and Ducksch. Who themselves also had to go through a similar path of injuries and lesser productive seasons before reaching their breakthrough. Although Platte seems to have been hit worse, so staying healthy is key.

Platte and Phillip Tietz at Paderborn could be the 2 to watch next season.

While HSV look like they may have Waldschmidt, Wintzheimer, and maybe Arp altogether in 2BL. Tough to set expectations right now as it's still to be determined on what lineup or rotation will be used. But if they can get at least somewhere between 5-10 goals each then that would be pretty positive to see.

I'm curious what's the list of strikers to worry about or had bad seasons. Only looking at guys in lower than 1st division.

Fabian Reese who's never scored beyond 4th division and who's loan to Furth was basically a bomb.

Etienne Amenyido who had a failed Eredivisie loan, although it was because he never got any playing time. Went back to Dortmund II but he hasn't played since Dec and doesn't seem injured.....

Dennis Srbeny big mistake in moving to the Championship. He could still turn it around next season. His contract is until 2021.....

Florian Dietz, terrible 1st season in 3rd Liga.

Dominik Widemann has 1 goal in 2 games but for some reason was ignored after October....

Putaro started out well but faded quickly.

would also consider Iyoha's 3rd division loan to be in the middle, neither great neither horrible.

Some older guys who didn't do well at all.
    Glatzel, Mlapa, Hofmann, Sukuta-Pasu

Of course none of these are highly rated strikers. But I do admit I have a soft spot for some of them.

Appears like Dortmund have an accumulation of such players. Amenyido, Eberwein who joined from Bayern, and Rizzo from Ingolstadt/Gladbach.

Kyeremateng has fallen. While who knows what will happen with Besong or Kehr.

Serra needs to find a new team altogether. But he might be one that can still turn things around if he develops in the next 2-3 seasons.

Rizzo's move to Dortmund II was one of the biggest eyeroll possible. He went from Ingolstadt II where he could have had chances to breakthrough to Dortmund's reserves.....He's not good enough for Dortmund what was the point? Not only that if he's not satisfied at Ingolstadt II he could have moved to another 2BL or even 3rd Liga. His 4th division numbers would have helped his cause.

Yikes, completely forget about Kyeremateng, not surprising since he scored 0 goals in U19 this season and has a 99 he graduates this season. Who would want to pick him up? If he can't even score at the youth level what does he expect to that at the pro level???

Kehr, Dortmund extended his contract around March 2018 until 2021. But he is a 00 so he has another season in U19. Besong had a terrible start in U19 but picked it up in the 2nd half of the season also as a 00 he has another season in the U19. The real worry is Kyeremateng

The issue with Nieland is that the Wolfsburg U19 coach prefers Y.Otto over him (kind of weird the amount of Y.Otto interest when there are better options, whether Germany or Wolfsburg). Yari is the striker who's played the most amount of games as CF, seems to have been 15/26 games this season. Also Wolfsburg rotates players and positions between the attacking players of Y.Otto, Herrmann, Yeboah, Klump, Tachie and Nieland. And from that lot Nieland is actually the most productive of the bunch in terms of goals+assists and even in terms of goals+assists/per minutes while playing more minutes than only Herrmann and Klump. Believe he's something like a goal or assist every 80 minutes while everyone else is more than that. 2nd place is Herrmann with something like a goal or assist every 90ish minutes.

but he's also played all over the place, AM, CM and CF. Also recently he made the bench for Wolfsburg II, my worry is that with a 2019 contract he'll be relegated to Wolfsburg II next season...

I'd like to see Nieland leave Wolfsburg completely this summer. His aim should be a club in 2BL.

Wolfsburg's transfer activity has made it difficult for their own youth prospects to move up. Not surprised that Julian Brandt left them for Leverkusen years ago. Jesaja Herrmann signing that extension with them remains a questionable decision.

I think the best thing for the Wolfburg U19/II players is a relegation. The main team has been so horrible in the last few seasons that they kind of deserve it.

then Wolfsburg in 2BL could give opportunities those players. As long as they are in 1BL and struggle they aren't going to trust their youth.

For that to happen, we need a German striker starting at a top club that plays offensive football. If BVB got Werner for example, I could see him pushing Lewa all the way.

It's a shame Tuchel isn't there anymore. Strikers thrive with the kind of football he plays.

That said, Werner would be immense in BVB under Favre, who favors a press and quick countering style of play.

I hope Schalke next season can be more offensive, since Uth is there.

Werner is of course another possibility, RB were a mess this season but one thinks if he has a good WC he might not stay in Germany. I prefer he stays in Germany at least another 2 season min.

after those 2, to win the top scorer one feels like it's likely to be one of the current youth levels strikers although not for another 3-4 years min.

Julian Schieber to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday?
    https://tbrfootball.com/sheffield-wednesday-use-luhukay-link-sign-julian-schieber-free-agent/

looks like it's about the fact that the Sheffield Wednesday coach Jos Luhukay is the ex Hertha coach and the one who brought Schieber to Hertha 4 years ago. Possible reunion.

would be interesting if both Schipplock and Schieber go to England both are 29 years old, will turn 30 soon. Any moves abroad it's basically now or never.

our trend for strikers in a NT tourney is outside of young talents everyone else that gets picked on the mid 20s as in 25+ side of things.

    1st tournament ages for CF
    CC99: Preetz (31), Neuville (26), Rink (26)
    EC00: Jancker (25)
    WC02: Klose (23), Asamoah (23)
    EC 04: Brdaric (29), Podolski (19), Kuramyi (22)
    CC 05: Hanke (21)
    EC 08: Gomez (22)
    WC10: Kiessling (26), Cacau (29)
    CC17: Wagner (29), Stindl (28), Werner (21)
    WC18 Preliminary squad: Petersen (29)

Werner was the 1st young striker since Gomez 08, both made in Stuttgart.

and this will be the ages of the other 1BL players if they make the EC2020, which would be their 1st senior NT tourney.
    Fullkrug (27), Volland (27), Uth (28), Selke (25), Ducksch (26) etc.

I'm not looking at the 96-onwards strikers who could breakthrough in the next 2 seasons and manage to sneak into the EC2020 squad.

I'm not criticizing anything just making a remark about how we go for guys when their older as strikers usually don't hit their prime until the mid 20s anyways. The more experience the better for them unlike other positions where you can be young and it's not as bad if you lack experience.

St. Pauli are waiting for Holstein Kiel's playoff vs Wolfsburg to assess what their plans with Marvin Ducksch are. They want to bring him back to play next season. But will risk losing him for free the following summer when his contract expires. Reportedly he may also be available on the transfer market for 3 Mio.

Ducksch is at a stage of his career when he needs to move up to 1BL level play. Just like how Füllkrug did. Another year in second division could see him stagnate. Ideally, he needs to also avoid the links of him going to England.

    Talked about this ages ago

Most teams play with 4231 or 433 , just one centre forward

Before the centre forward hit 30/31 years old, he might still be the main striker. So it isn’t easy for younger strikers to breakthrough until he has become mature n proven

Playing a 21 year old or a 28 year old striker in th lone striker position ? Maybe the proven one

Apparently, comparing to late 90s or before 2006 is silly

It was an era with 4-4-2. Two strikers make it easier for younger strikers to emerge since they have more need at the position and more chance to play

nothing silly, you really don't read any posts it seems. All I was doing was looking at the ages of strikers in their 1st tournament. And all the current strikers how old they would be.

if you want to say it's because of system or whatever that's another topic. And say it without criticizing other posters with "silly".
