I interpreted it as Poch knowing Eriksen is gone and the need to get an Eriksen-less team ready. The injury to Lo Celso was a major blow to that plan. I can’t necessarily fault him for the idea, the execution though leaves lot to be desired.
Good points, but if that were the case, Eriksen should not have even been in the squad. It's like he's saying "I'm gonna teach you a lesson, but if I need you to bail us out, you're coming on in the 2nd half". No every effective.
