I will be watching this with mates darn t'pub. United will get stuffed today. We will piss this league. That is all.
Might be the first match of the season I get to watch...Might skip it to keep Spurs 100% record intact.
#THFC: Lloris (C), Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Lucas, Dele, Kane.
Tomorrow morning: Man U fan 1 - How as last night? Man U fan 2 - Watched [insert sad movie] Man U fan 1 - I thought you went to the match. Man U fan 2 - I don't want to talk about it...
Wonder what Toby is thinking … Who would have thought the many failed attempts to deputize for Kane it was going to be a January midfield signing that would come good … I was honestly underwhelmed with the first two Spurs matches and I know it’s a United in disarray (lads, it’s United), but still a 3-0 win at old Trafford. Brilliant.
Remember that time we completely embarrassed Utd at Old Trafford? The one where we conclusively proved that we're better than them in every respect on the pitch, better managed in every way? Yeah, that was a good day.
Apparently this was Mourinho's worst ever home defeat. I'm happy to say I enjoyed every minute of it.
Intriguing game. I had to watch as replay without knowing the result. Consequence of having to teach my class in the afternoon and meet the teacher night for my daughter. Came home plopped down and worried that the first half presaged a match that would go badly in the second half. But, Poch found the right things to say, right ideas, and players responded strongly. United didn't lay down, but they were at a loss so often in the match and Spurs took advantage. That goal by Kane was artistry. So few players can manage to keep the needed control, just enough pace to loop over and in... amazing. Who can we be this season? Wow!
In a couple of comment places (both on here and other sites) there are the inevitable calls for Jose out (getting increasingly loud) and the discussion of who replaces him. Zidane is the obvious one, but our very own Poch also gets mentioned. Why oh why oh why would anyone be flat out stupid enough to think that Poch would swap what he has here for that total and irredeemable shitshow they've got going on at Old Trafford?
Remember what he walked into when he arrived at Spurs - a shit show. The difference, here, is that Spurs are very much his creation and the new stadium is built around him and his team. At Old Trafford, he will be trying to replace SAF - that legend will live on for a while.
It was always going to be hard to replace SAF (Moyes was a fool to take the job). I hope it is equally hard to replace Wanger. Management may be on to something with that "don't sign anyone in the transfer window" thing.
Starting to put that "can't win away at the big sides" craptrap to bed. Our last 3 away trips to the Big 6, we have drawn at Anfield and won at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford. Funny old game, we could easily have been behind or even ahead at HT and then we pasted them in the final 45 minutes and should have won by an even bigger margin as Deli and Harry missed a couple of sitters at 2-0. The defence was immense - thank goodness we did not sell Alderweireld, I don't care if he goes for 25 mil pound in the summer. I have always felt that when we go away to the big sides we shoot ourselves in the foot by conceding a sloppy goal in the first half, and boy we had a massive let-off when Rose made that dreadful back-pass. If we can stay in a game for 50-60 minutes, our strong fitness takes over and we can overrun teams (like the games at Anfield and the Bridge last season). I have always wanted to see Harry play in a true #10 role with a speedy partner - Lucas looks like that guy, he his quick and I was surprised at the number of headers he won for a small guy.
In case you missed this, here are Jose's (well, not really) post-game comments: http://www.espn.com/soccer/english-...hes-he-could-tell-you-about-manchester-united
Sorry, but the Internet tells me Liverpool have wrapped it up. Their goalie did some flick and so, well, it's case closed.
