Vert did his MCL. No timetable for return as of yet. It's Wimmer time.

found these two sites with recovery times for MCL injury:

Prognosis and recovery time: The outlook for an MCL sprain is usually very good. A mild sprain may take anything from a few days to two weeks to repair, a grade II sprain can take up to four weeks, and a severe sprain anywhere from four to eight weeks, but full recovery with minimal long-term effects is highly likely.

    and...

Recovery times differ depending on the severity of the injury:
    • A minor, or grade 1, MCL tear can take from a few days to a week and a half to heal sufficiently for you to return to normal activities, including sports.
    • A grade 2 tear can take from two to four weeks to heal.
    • A grade 3 tear usually takes from four to eight weeks to heal, unless it is associated with damage to the ACL, in which case the recovery time may be longer.

Is it a tear or sprain? A tear and there would be some minor surgery. A sprain is just rest.

Last I read he was ahead of schedule but I don't know when he's scheduled to return.

Carter-Vickers to miss upcoming U23 games through injury. Bentaleb hurt during U21 match vs. Leicester on Friday night. Vert rumored to be ready to go vs. Liverpool following int'l break.

I'll be glad to have SuperJan back, but Kevin Wimmer hasn't half looked the part for a young foreign defender thrown into the prem. Whatever we achieve this season, be it first, second or wherever, he's played his part.

@SpursOfficial reports that Bentaleb will be out six weeks after undergoing knee surgery. Signed a big contract, hurt, struggled for form and to crack the team, and now back on the sidelines.

Also means that if Dier gets another yellow, we better hope that Dembele's groin doesn't go about bothering him again. Don't want to see Mason and Carroll paired together as "DMs".

I don't rate him as highly as our other midfielders, but really bad luck for Bentaleb. Pretty much a lost year for him.

actually to be honest, I still probly prefer Vert at that position, for the time being anyway. more experience being the main reason

but Wimmer has done a fantastic job considering the amount of match time he had prior to Vertonghens injury

Read that N'Jie was available for selection last week (Stoke match), but that Poch said there were other players in front of him. Glad to see him healthy again.

Bentaleb is the only player unavailable for Monday.

Jan seems to be out of the euro due to injury, 6-7 weeks out, so hopefully will be ok for the start of the next season in August

A few weeks out might be good for Harry, good for Janssen and ultimately good for the team.
