Yeah, and did you see how shitty they were when we played them at home? We should have won that game. Vancouver may be first in the West, but they are playing about as well as we are right now.
I was watching the U17 Nike Friendlies tonight to get a look at Bucio. Bucio was fine, but it is no wonder the USA national program is in trouble. The USA team was completely embarrassed by the Netherlands. The Dutch team looked as mature, technical and composed as their senior side. The USA team was absolutely no match for them. We’ re still years behind other countries with the way our kids are coached.
Yeah, I'm happy for Ike, I'm sure this is something he has wanted for a long time. But honestly, he's too old to have any realistic shot at making WC 2022, so I'm not sure what the point is. If he gets hurt in a USMNT uniform, and we have already lost EPB, I swear I'm going to burn this place down.
Salloi has been called up by the Hungarian U21 team. He'll miss next week's game against Colorado. Hungary's U21 squad to face Cyprus and Belgium has been announcedStrong squad which includes @danielsalloi and Dominik Szoboszlai pic.twitter.com/SK7xrNDFWO— Tom Mortimer (@TomaszMortimer) March 13, 2018
Looks like Salloi played all 90 minutes as striker in a 5-3-2 and got one assist in a 4-0 win over cyprus
And Hungary as of now are in second in their group, meaning they would qualify as one of the four best second place group finishers for a playoff to determine which two would advace to the U21 championships in June, 2019. FWIW, this is the schedule for the rest of 2018. He's going to be missing a bit this season. 19–27 March 2018 3–11 September 2018 8–16 October 2018 Play-offs 12–20 November 2018 FWIW, just by a smidge not having qualified for the WC this summer, Hungary's men's team is in rebuilding mode aiming at qualifying for the 2020 Euros, so that's also possible, though not until after this cup, i'd think.
They still have 2 games against Belgium, a road game against Sweden and a game against Turkey ... out of the 5 games they have left, they have a lot of "work" to do. He'll likely continue to be a part of it, but I wouldn't pencil them in for the "2nd place playoffs" just yet.
Okay, true, but can you honestly say Sweden, Belgium or Turkey are as ... ahem ... Hungary as Salloi's side?
Should Alex McLeish be looking at calling up Johnny Russell for the Peru and Mexico games? No brainer surely, given the geography and his current form?— Derek Rae (@RaeComm) April 21, 2018 May 29th at Peru and June 2nd at Mexico. The thing I have always liked about Johnny Russell since first commentating on him at Dundee United is that stylistically he looks like a Scottish footballer. Not a robotic athlete, more off the cuff improv man, entertainer. Lighting up @MLS.— Derek Rae (@RaeComm) April 21, 2018 He is *electric* on the ball. One of the best signings of the year in @MLS so far.— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) April 21, 2018
Columbus I'm not sure, it's 2 days before Peru and the games aren't in a FIFA window. Minnesota definitely as Mexico is the day before that game.
Well, it obviously sucks to lose Johnny. But I'm happy that gerso might actually get a full game or two.
well, only if the player being rotated "out" is getting any rest... which they're not in these situations.
