I agree. I'm seeing a lot of "please wait #seconds to post again" and I see the post has actually gone through.

I am getting intermittent delays. This has been happening for quite a while (couple of months?). Happens both at home and on my phone (I am blocked at work, which is a good thing). When there is a delay at home, I often check with another website to make sure it is not a local problem, and usually it is not.

I've experienced the same for several months, regardless of browser or OS. I often tab to another site while waiting for a BS page to load. It is intermittent... several pages will load quickly, then the next few will take ages (relatively speaking).

Are you premie of any level? Does this happen at any specific times of day? I ask as I am mod/premie and this usually happens after 5pm CST/CDT.

Yes, platinum membership. I haven't noticed a correlation between time of day and speed, but I have not been looking for it. During the day, I am at work and my computer and internet connection are less than stellar, so it is difficult to compare.

I signed out and spent a few minutes surfing the site. The pages loaded faster when I was signed-out of my account. Could be an anomaly... I'll try a few more times over the next day or so.

Thanks for the tip. It's definitely way faster when i'm logged out. Must be something to do with users and the database. Isn't the overall database because it would have remained slow after logging out. Maybe it's something to do with tracking users ( not sinister tracking, hehe), so it tell where you have been,etc..

I'm experiencing issues as well. I've already had pages time out on me twice. My internet is fine, but this site is laggy as all hell. Just to reply to this topic, I had to wait 15 seconds! It's been like this for months, and it's on every computer I have and every web browser. It's a little frustrating.

What he said. for months its been slow most of the time, but then I get some times when it goes as fast as any other site I read. and its only this site. not to mention occasionally getting the error page recently.

    Same here.

Cool. I figured you guys would be told that. Good luck on finding a new forum to use your db, I know from experience it can be a pain in the butt.

    Thanks

Still slow for me over the weekend. I know that lots of people will be up in arms over any change, and I would normally be one of them, I really really like vBulletin and I won't like any change, but hopefully you can give us lots and lots of notice. I've modded a few forums that made similar changes and time seems to be the best antidote to lots of forum bitching...

Yeah, I just saw a "you have posted within the past 20 seconds" message, only to see the "duplicate post" message a few seconds later.

If you have to dump VBulletin, what about going to pbpBB? (I don't know anything about the backend, but it seems very similar to VB, at least on a user level.)

The speed is still slow for me. Some days are worse than other, and I doubt it has anything to do with forum activity as I'm writing this at 2:40am EST.

I guess I'm ready for a new software.... Geez, I never thought I would say that. I really have liked vBulletin all these years....
