Obviously someone else is supposed to be starting this thread, but the way I figure it, it's no worse to have a thread started in a non-traditional way, than to have no thread started at all.

Anyway it's time to show if we're worthy of the Top4, let alone the Top6.

    COYG!!!!

p.s. As I went to grab the above image, I found that I already had it on my computer... because I already did this fixture 11 mos ago it turns out. We won 5-0 that day! Good omen I hope.

They are absolutely tearing us apart. WTF!

P.s. I've been a pretty big fan of Per, but he really has to redeem himself now. He's made several mistakes, one of which led to the goal. And this game is only 10 minutes old!

Why are we always so poor against Southampton?

This is all Dave Grohls fault.

Xhaka needs support if we're going to generate any offense. Nobody else in the midfield is within 20 yards of him when we have the ball. I love Per, but he's 33, hasn't ever been fast, and spent most of the past 2 years injured or benched. He's no longer a real option.

Well the prediction of wide-open match was certainly right on. Exciting stuff, but at times our defense/shape has looked League One-ish.

Try NBCSports.com or the app? When a game is showed on NBCSN channel here (rather than NBC Gold), then it's usually available for free online. Not sure if that signal travels to Brum though. ;)

If we don't correct our high line soon, we'll be down 2 or 3 goals. They've had no much trouble getting in behind us today.

how many chances does Khaka get to show he’s worthy to be on the pitch ?

    Endless supply I guess

Sanchez and Ozil have mailed it in today

    Back theee has been poor.

Wenger has clearly instructed the team that it’s not really that important to start with intensity. You can just play into the game eventually

First my Seattle Sounders get their clocks cleaned out last night in the MLS Cup Final by Toronto and now I wake up to see we are trailing 1-0 at half-time, shit! What a weekend. :( What next?!?!?!

I don't know why Xhaka gets crap when he's so isolated. It's impossible to say if he's good or not because of how isolated he is all the time.

Put Jacky boy in there if no one’s gonna actually move as the ball harmlessly pings around the box.

How many TOS by Sanchez today ?

He’s a lot better if we aren’t making him the focus of the offense. We are trying to run too much through him. Need Jack in. No need to defend that much if we are already down anyway.

Also, Ramsey is reverting to early season form where he’s the second highest player on the pitch. He needs to drop and facilitate.

Can Soton go an entire 2nd half sitting back and playing for the counter? I fancy our chances of breaking them down sooner or later.

Yeah. And how about Cech pulling his hand back as it goes onto the bar?!

Per is taken out of his misery, as Wellbeck comes in to replace him. Back 4 now.

Not true. Ramsey almost had equalizer if not for a fine save.

Monreal with a decent long range effort. We need a bit more of that. Our patient passing around the box is not working well. And Foster can be beaten from distance.

Meanwhile Wilshere is in for Xhaka. Hopefully he can just close his eyes and imagine he's playing against BATE.
