Taking my son to the Sox game for his birthday, with one of my college roomies, so must count on the bile of those actually watching.

Needs to be a win to try and stay ahead of Atlanta and to keep NYFC in our sights. That said, I hope Basti gets a rest/recuperation break again.

    Thanks for the thread.

Insomnia Sufferers? The game is at 6:00 p.m.!
If they are suffering from insomnia at 6:00 p.m., they have bigger problems than the Fire. ;)

If we can't "stay ahead" of that crap hole known as Atlanta in any respect*, we deserve our fate.

*The only things Atlanta should ever be ahead of Chicago regarding should be strip clubs, out-and-out racism and oppressive heat/humidity (ours is bad, their weather is insufferable, much like the rest of the city).

SHOULD be 3 points. Philly sucks this year and the Fire record fell apart as the injury bug floated around the backline. Now the backline is back and intact and the injury bug is floating around the midfield which has depth enough to absorb it. I predict a victory.

I will give Atlanta credit for one thing: they were the home of REM. Do I like REM? No. But it’s where the Butthole Surfers moved for a year to stalk REM and freak the band out. It worked.

    That was Athens, not Atlanta.
They met at an old Athens record store, while at University of Georgia.

Atlanta deserves no credit for REM or any Athens band (B52's, Pylon, Love Tractor, etc.), most of whom were not great (in my opinion), but were local and loyal to Athens.
    Atlanta has nothing.

One area they have us beat is attendance. Granted their stadium holds more spectators, but per the Washington Post, Atlanta attendance is number 1 in MLS, with an average of 47,926. Fire average attendance is 17,180- 17th out of 22 teams.

Let Solignac come in late when he actually is faster than someone.

Alvarez is slow, but a damned sight better player than soft feet.

Solignac and his soft feet add little to the team. Alvarez can pass and take corner kicks, at least.

Solignac with 5 goals > Alvarez's 3. Never mind Solignac has played 1,088 more minutes than Alvarez. Both need to go next year.

    You are a lucky man!

It is not Shep Messing, is it?

He was the worst soccer announcer I ever heard, prior to Danhole.
At least he understood the sport; he just sucked at explaining it.

    No it wasn't Shep.

For some reason they have a guy that English is his second language. Yes I know it's a Spanish station, but at least they could have a English (first language) guy doing the English version.
