"We shall not be moved" is a pretty sweet chant. Its easy to learn, American in Origin, and fully customizable. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1-qkjEvpMc&feature=related"]YouTube - Nuremberg - Everton (8.11.07 - EVERTON FANS SINGING)[/ame] We shall not, we shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved Just like a tree that's standing by the water We shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved The union is behind us, We shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved We're fighting for our freedom, We shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved We're fighting for our children, We shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved We'll building a mighty union, We shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved Black and white together, We shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved We shall not, we shall not be moved Young and old together, We shall not be moved Basically you can say whatever you want in the 3rd line, so we can make something up USMNT related.
The Hull City fans are having some fun coming up with chants for Jozy. I really like the one below (I just changed it a bit to make sense for us). To 'Thats Amore' He's strong, he's got pace, From the United States, Altidoreee He's a scoring machine, And he's only 19, Altidoreee From England he's flown, Now he's back home, Altidoreee
This would be fun and it is easy to remember. "move bitch get out the way get out the way bitch get out the way" [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhbagxIKP8Y&feature=related"]YouTube - BAD CESC [/ame]

not really a chant, but when there is a mass movement of American Outlaws (i.e. from the bar to the tailgate or the tailgate to the stadium), someone could yell out "Outlaws assemble!!!" in a way that is reminiscent of Anchorman's "News team assemble!!"
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwHvyqNDUvE"]Yankee Doodle Dandy on Youtube[/ame] Here's my go at a Maurice Edu song, to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy. Original lyrics in parentheses). Maurice Edu went to town (Yankee Doodle went to town) Slotting past the goalie (Riding on a pony) They called it back, now Yanks all say (Stuck a feather in his cap) f*ck Koman Coulibaly (And called it macaroni) Maurice Edu keep it up (Yankee doodle keep it up) Maurice Edu, 19 (Yankee doodle dandy) We send our best, go make us proud (Mind the music and the step) And strike that Jabulani (And with the girls be handy)
One little doozey making the rounds around HTX (albeit a bit modified on the syllable count)... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT1LXhgXPWs"]YouTube- Twisted Sister - Were Not Gona Take It[/ame] (2:00) We're not f***ing fancy! We don't dive like pansies! We don't give a f***, we're U-S-A!
Everywhere I go.. I sing it, so they will know. I get the soccer moms panties up in their butts.. but at the end of the day we get love for it. Everytime someone dives or lays on the ground hurt... "We're Not F* Fancy!........." Best one of all in my book. Mucho props for that jam Mannie.
Looking for some more Spanish songs. I work with a lot of Central Americans who LOVE USA but hate Mexico and the only one I could think of was Vamos Vamos Vamos USA and Estados Unidos.
Might not fit the style but check it... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BImLkZ9WoHw"]YouTube- Kinito Mendez-Pasame la botella[/ame] (starts @ 0:44) Levanten la bandera-ah! A celebrar rayas y estrellas!(repeat) There's a longer version, but short in sweet is the way to go with most US soccer fans.
Hey guys, I think the chorus of this would be perfect for a song. And double-plus sides, it's neither stolen from another chant and it's by an American band: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXl1Ogzuij4"]YouTube- A few good men[/ame] The only change I would make is changing "Liberty" to "the USA", it slots in pretty smoothly. Join us in a song / We shall rise and sing Stand up and be counted / Sing a song for the U-S-A Join us in a song / Together we shall sing Rise up and be counted / Sing it loud, sing it proud!
Heard a new song at the AO LA bar during the USvGhana match. (To Camptown Ladies) Who put the ball in Algeria's net? Landon, Landon. Who put the ball in Algeria's net? Landon Donovan. Landon Donovan, Landon Donovan! Who put the ball in Algeria's net? Landon Donovan! Later on, of course, Algeria was replaced with Ghana. This little ditty could work for practically any player or country.
I was thinking about something set to Country Roads. It would be a long song about the World Cup in general, this is the first stanza. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN86d0CdgHQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN86d0CdgHQ[/ame] A keep from West Ham Called to join the team Hops a flight to Durban Where he's never been Takes the gloves for England Just to do his part Little did his coach know He sucks worse than Joe Hart CHORUS: Thank you so Robert Green For the goal You let in Dempsey struck it Then you ********ed it Thanks to you We topped the group! Keep on Rocking in the Free World could yield a great song.
Another chant idea, taken from the beat of Kanye West's "Power": While doing the "Power Clap" that you hear in the song... U-S, AAAAAAAAA U-S, AAAAAAAAA U-S, AAAAAAAAA Let's Go U-S-AAAA, Let's Go U-S-AAAAAAAA U-S, AAAAAAAAA U-S, AAAAAAAAA U-S, AAAAAAAAA Let's Go U-S-AAAA, Let's Go U-S-AAAAAAAA (Repeat) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mnznivr86kg"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mnznivr86kg[/ame]
How about the opening of "I Can Walk on Water"? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLyHWIXTrlI"]YouTube - Basshunter - I Can Walk On Water (HQ)[/ame]
hello everyone, just wanted to know what "official" chants we are going to sing on the 22nd, don't want go and just chant U-S-A and When the Yanks Go Marching in, then staying quiet for 85 minutes
For starters, I think we should make a collective effort to learn patriotic songs. You'd be surprised how many people do not know the lyrics to things like "God Bless America", or "America the Beautiful" among others. They may be basic and simple, but they can go a long way in getting the non-supporters and Johnny Comelatelys to join in on the singing: God Bless America by Irving Berlin God Bless America. Land that I love Stand beside her, and guide her Thru the night with a light from above. From the mountains, to the prairies, To the oceans, white with foam God bless America My home sweet home!!! My home sweet home!!! America the Beautiful by Katherine Lee Bates O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea! Over There by George M. Cohan Over There, Over There Send the word, send the word, Over There That the Yanks are coming, The Yanks are coming, The drums rum tumming everywhere So prepare, Say a Prayer Send the word, Send the word to beware We'll be over, we're coming over. And we won't be back till it's over over there! Grand ol’ flag by George M. Cohan You're a grand old flag, You're a high flying flag And forever in peace may you wave. You're the emblem of The land I love. The home of the free and the brave. Ev'ry heart beats true 'neath the Red, White and Blue, Where there's never a boast or brag. But should auld acquaintance be forgot, Keep your eye on the grand old flag. My Country ‘Tis of Thee by Samuel Francis Smith My country, ’tis of thee, Sweet land of Liberty, Of thee I sing; Land where my father’s died, Land of the pilgrim’s pride! From ev’ry mountain side, Let freedom ring!! Personally, I'd like to pull this one off in the case of a win: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt-f7K_suBc"]YouTube - El Rey - George Strait - Twang (George Sings SPANISH)[/ame] If George Strait can do it, we can certainly try.
I would seriously love to do Pink Houses by John Cougar Mellencamp Oh but ain't that America for you and me Ain't that America somethin' to see baby Ain't that America home of the free Little pink houses for you and me I am thinking replace "Little pink houses" in the lyrics with something more related to the team, but it works if you leave it in as well. I would also like to do When Johnny Comes marching home when Juan (John) Agudelo scores. When Johnny comes marching home again, Hurrah! Hurrah! We'll give him a hearty welcome then Hurrah! Hurrah! The men will cheer and the boys will shout The ladies they will all turn out And we'll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home Might want to change the last line. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I was thinking, "And he will take it all the way when Johnny comes marching home"
I'd like to see some of the euro-chants used for our yanks abroad adapted for the usmnt. Do people use the "Tim Timminy Tim Timminy Tim Tim Tarroo...We've got Tim Howard and he says 'F*** you'?" Or "he scores with his left, he scores with his right..." chant for Dempsey?
