Ok folks, lets talk about songs and chants All I ever hear is Gooooooooooo USA. USA, USA, USAAAAAAA and When the Yanks Go Marching in. Anybody got anything else? Ben AO Greenville Brigade
Jack Warner will be attendance for the T&T match in Chicago, won't he? We need a good "Warner travel agency" chant for that scum but I'm not sure it can be pulled off en masse (see below). Personally, I love the "We all cheer for the Red, White & Blue" to the Yellow Submarine song. Rules for chants: 1) understood by fans across the stadium 2) easy to remember 3) must have a simple beat (and easy to dance to) 4) include handclaps and a bass drum whenever possible 5) keep it short
Someone posted a youtube link of the song "Over There" awhile back. That song would work really well if everyone had a copy of the lyrics.
Ive mentioned "Over There" on many occasions and still think that the lyrics are perfect and powerful. Its short and simple as well. Chorus Over there, over there, Send the word, send the word over there - That the Yanks are coming, The Yanks are coming, The drums rum-tumming Ev'rywhere. So prepare, say a pray'r, Send the word, send the word to beware. We'll be over, we're coming over, And we won't come back till it's over Over there.
An original. Only works when Landon scores To the tune of Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond Sweet Donovan U S A He just scored a Goal A Goal A Goal A Goal He'll do it again U S A And the US Will Win We'll Win We'll Win We'll Win
Sweet Donovan U S A This part works really well, not sure about the rest. Two chants we could start using that would add something other than USA, USA, USA are? 1) Sweet Donovan-USA and 2) We all cheer for the red, white, and blue
You can just use the chorus : THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND words and music by Woody Guthrie Chorus: This land is your land, this land is my land From California, to the New York Island From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters This land was made for you and me
"Over There" is one of my favorites–starts at about :45 in this clip from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/v/NxME4ulgKcw I like the Donovan song and the Yellow Submarine takeoff, too.
Thats an awesome movie and James Cagney is a brilliant actor! Anyways, I think the argument we get with this song is the fact that it is so old. The point is that it has history and meaning behind it. I dont see a problem at all using new or old songs. As long as we can go out there and be able to switch things up a bit.
Thats an awesome movie and James Cagney was a brilliant actor! I see nothing wrong with having new and old songs to choose from. The more the better. Like ive said before, the song has history and meaning behind it.
Vulgar ones: Wheels on your house go round and round, round and round, round and round The wheels on your house go round and round, round and round, round.... Tim, Timery, tim, timery, tim, timaroooo We've got Tim Howard and he says ******** you You go down like a Tijuana whore, a Tijuana whore, a Tijuana whore. You go down like a Tijuana whore, a Tijuana whore, a Tijuana whore. If I had the wings of a sparrow, and I had the ass of a crow, I'd fly over "opponent" tomorrow, and shit on those bastards below, below, shit on.... shit on... shit on those bastards below, below, shit on.... shit on... shit on those bastards below, below. and I am sure there are more good ones, I am just too tired tonight to think of more..
I like the old time war songs, here is a few. http://us.dada.net/audio/6225857/The-Mormon-Tabernacle-Choir-You-re-A-Grand-Old-Flag/ You're A Grand Old Flag You're a grand old flag, You're a high flying flag And forever in peace may you wave. You're the emblem of The land I love. The home of the free and the brave. Ev'ry heart beats true 'neath the Red, White and Blue, Where there's never a boast or brag. Should auld acquaintance be forgot, Keep your eye on the grand old flag. You're a grand old flag, You're a high flying flag And forever in peace may you wave. You're the emblem of The land I love. The home of the free and the brave. Ev'ry heart beats true 'neath the Red, White and Blue, Where there's never a boast or brag. Should auld acquaintance be forgot, Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
While we all love the classics, our image is changing and so should our chants You want vulgar? Look no futher than 2pac and The Outlawz Us against the world Outlaw Life Of An Outlaw Hail Mary Hit Em Up Us against the world
Sing a song (sing a song), For Oguchi Onyewu (Onyewu) He's so strong (he's so strong), He just might kill you (kill you) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAj5anhJRJg
I also like the idea of singing "over there." "Grand Old Flag" is also a great one. I think we should sing one of these songs after a goal as opposed to: USA USA USA.
i thought of this one - from "That Boy Ronaldo" United song buuut http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GHqFT-TehQ Our version for Cuba game Your gunna defect Your gunna defeeeect Because were better Your gunna defect! To rough?
I defintely think that we should take WAY MORE from rap songs. They have that added edge that's needed in a supporters group. We have the best lyrical masters (rap wise) on the planet. Why go any further. Enough with this nursery rhyme nonsense and let hit'em up American style.
