11 – David de Gea made 11 saves for Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur today; the most saves he’s made in a top-flight league match without conceding a goal. Unbeatable. #TOTMUN pic.twitter.com/r7xYnHzalv— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) January 13, 2019
Who cares? man. Bravo, he did not fake an injury like Park JY 2011. I am sure he played conservatively to avoid injury. Most do.
Tottenham complete shambles. Kane looks injured at the end there. Kane and Dele should have scored. Llorente is Llorente. Good comeback and adjustments from Spurs in the 2nd but DDG makes Lloris look like a Championship keeper. De Gea stole this game - unbelievable how calm he is. there goes any talk of a Prem title. DL has no one to blame but himself. Winks, Davies and Trippier are not going to win you trophies. They need a replacement for Dembele, Wanyama. Dier is not the ans either. Kane knocked up, Sissoko hamstring. it's a mare for Spurs. Sonny, is knackered. doesn't need to start vs CHN. hope he rests up and starts banging them in for us.
sure they do, as long as they're willing to pay. but at £72 million price tag? too rich for DL but at the same time, that's what a player like Ndombele costs in 2019. but like we've all been saying, boy do they need CM help badly now. if Sissoko is out for long, Dier not ready yet, they're going to have to rely on Winks and Skippy. yikes...
https://sports.news.naver.com/epl/news/read.nhn?oid=413&aid=0000077222 Kane out for at least 4 weeks with an ankle injury. Spurs are fukt in the arse now. Holding midfield of Winks and Skipp??? LOOOL
Spurs apparently going to bring Malcom on loan from Barca with option to buy. More competition for Son.
If anything this is bad news for Lamela. But maybe Poch plans to shift him centrally. Could just get an actual midfielder but hey..
They desperately need a replacement for Dembele more than wingers. Their central midfield is in shambles.
Indeed. I'm not sure why they still have Janssen on their payroll. They can't find a single team to loan him out to? That would save them some coin.
yup and Moura still dealing with knee issues. Dier came on, Winks was able to move up the pitch and he saved them after a beautiful bit from Nkoudou of all players. talk about using your bench today for Poch. massive save of 3 pts to say the least. i'm not the biggest Harry Winks fan, but well done to him today. well played by him and Nkoudou. absolute shambles in attack tho for Spurs w/ Dele out as well. this was Fulham they had to scrape out, and Vertongen probably should have conceded a pen in the 1st half as well. wow... gonna be an interesting month for them. Levy has to bring a loan in now, at the least.
on a side, did you get a chance to watch the match? they need Lamela badly for this stretch but he was terrible on SUN. at least Dier is finally back. speaking of Poch and his bench, I can't wait to see who he plays vs Chelski 2nd leg.
pretty much. swap Lamela and Eriksen and Danny Rose is undroppable atm. i'm not the biggest Trippier fan, but they need his set-pieces badly and on his day he can find Llorente's head with a cross, so he would be the other FB. Or WB if Poch plays 3 at the back. hopefully Lucas is close to ready. if not, they may have to try academy boy Parrott if Llorente bottles it again.
I think Lamela would be preferred for his graft in MF with Eriksen up front pulling the strings? One thing is for sure, this period might make or break Spurs' season.
totally get where you're coming from and would be the norm with front DESK in tact. but lately, even if Eriksen starts the game on a wing, he ends up shifting centrally to pull strings and at times plays very deep. even more so now with Sissoko out as well. they need "4 goals in 5 games" + "he's better than Lucas and Sonny combined" Lamela to score goals for them right now, it would seem more than anything. but like you said, whichever way they line up, they're 2 of Spurs most important players now (Eriksen already is of course) and creativity and goals have to come from them and Lucas or they'll drop out of top 4 and cup competitions. crazy month ahead for Spurs to say the least.
