Tonight's drinking event is: So...during the State of the Union speech, every time the President of the United States of America says "I" or refers to himself in the third person, you take a drink.
Some kind of scotch that cost $20. I think it's called John Barr or something. I think good old fashioned jack daniels is better. Another thing Americans do better
Sailor Jerry and Cherry Coke. One more trick I learned from a fire road trip where all i had was sailor jerry in a flask and we stopped for popeyes chicken and got some cherry coke. Good stuff. Now got my popcorn and gonna enjoy myself and binge some movies after working my last shift for a week
3 days left of vacation. Got mi rum, got mi Filipino sausages, got mi liveship traders on mi kindle. Arrrggh
Given the looks of this team through this off season, should we perhaps change the name of this thread to "How Much Are You Drinking?"
I have a stupid 4 hour layover in Phoenix. Took the light rail to Tempe. In a den of ASU frat boy "bros" and thumping crap music, I found Gordon Biersch Brewery...my second brew pub in Tempe. Beautiful, relatively quiet and good mix of house made beers (although the nitro stout at the first place was better). ...with a giant pretzel and sausage skewer appetizer (no picture for the food thread, as I devoured as much as I could already)
I've been running hot all day so much so I drank lemonade on my lunch break and brought Snapple home driving with Windows open as well. So not sure why I thought brandy would be a good idea but wanted to see if it tastes good. I think the Paul Mason is smoother but what do I know? I drank that in a porta potty in the woods. I think taping the lid shut was a good idea. If I brought zombie dust case directly from FFF think i could drink one and sell the other 23 to break even?
The one downside of Airbnb I can see is the shared toilet. Hmmm drink this tonight? Was on clearance for 50 cents at Jewel
Sleepy time tea and a bit of scotch.i didn't think the tea by itself would be strong enough and whiskey sleep is better than none right?
The wisest, fairest, most cogent post on BigSoccer all week. In a week or so where we had: -the firing of the Secretary of State by 'tweet', -the firing of the Deputy Director of the FBI (after he had resigned and two days before his retirement kicked in), -the proposed appointment of a torture artist as Director of the CIA, -the proposal of the dangerously loonie John Bolton as National Security Director, -the President of the United States involved in a serious court battle with a porn star, -the President of the United States stating that he would meet with the leader of North Korea, -Betsy DeVos' complete train wreck on 60 Minutes, -the hiring of "TV personalities" in key government positions, And, locally, -Loco go completely off the rails (and receive a red card ban), -the debacle that was the Chicago Fire home opener (letting in 4 goals at home?!?) -the "announcement" that the Fire will have no local television broadcasting for the next several seasons, -and the signing of Alan f'n Gordon, We need some sanity returned to the Chicago Fire BigSoccer Boards and, frankly, to the world. Your one word may do just that. Well done, sir. Well done.
Smooth move tea and a box of tagalongs. This is going to be great I'm sure. I had waffles/surly for breakfast,beer/vodka for lunvh, airport pizza for dinner, and 11pm white Castle snacks.
Did you not notice the lack of warmth as you were going to Three Floyds OR as you were going to the park? Unless, of course, the park is on a hot springs or a nuclear dump site (it is Indiana, after all), then one might suspect it would "still be warm a the park."
Introduced one of the professors in town to keynote our conference to Malort this weekend. He seemed to find it interesting. Not good, but he "didn't see why people thought it was so bad" The grad student on the other hand (a Notre Dame student) found it atrocious. I don't think she'll be picking up a bottle on the way back through Chicago. We killed off our bottle, but thankfully, another one is already in the mail.
