    If your concern is team’s faking head injuries to get the additional sub(s), then increasing the number of days the protocol requires would offset that some.. Heck, write it so the player is required to miss a minimum of one game or 7 days, whichever is longer.. That way you cover situations where there is a midweek game the player would have missed anyways and where the team has an offweek and doesn’t play for a couple of weeks..

    If a team no longer has any substitutes to replace a concussed player, a 4th substitute should immediately be available to both teams.
