While we wait for Hal to kick-off the new season's drafting bonanza we can use the down time as an opportunity to get our season chit chat thread off on a roll, as Chelsea edge Liverpool (1:0) in California. http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/small-rocks-2016-2017-official-draft-thread.2033940/
Shame the Manchester derby was called off in China. I would rather not have all these trans-continental pre-season friendlies though. Premier league teams should stick to playing and training in Europe. What on earth are Tottenham doing in Australia? It's winter down there!
I would hardly call them Spurs looking at the team they threw out - I could have got a run ! And isn't soccer a winter sport !?
It's official, Hal has kicked off the 2016/2017 Small Rocks drafting session with a punt on the Swedish ponytail. Apparently he lost the extra £1.5 Million needed for Aguero, at Bridge. If Hal had stayed at the card table another day/night he might have had to settle for Peter Crouch, at the bargain basement price of £5 million. http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/small-rocks-2016-2017-official-draft-thread.2033940/
It's nearly 2am in Ozland, so unless the Muppets are on the juice, we'll be waiting a little longer to really get rolling. http://www.timeanddate.com/time/map/
Hal had it all under control, has swapped places with Muppets and now we hope Top Shelf makes an appearance before I'm off for the night. Updated: http://1800-worldcup.com/fantasy/smallrocks.htm
I've looked around but haven't really got a clue when people are liable to be online. We have their time-zones, but that means very little if we don't know what they're doing with their time? Not sure if that is good or bad. On vacation = not online, or can be online whenever? Surely there's no need to think about proxy picks already; on Day 1. Being online would speed things up. The draft has started: http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/small-rocks-2016-2017-official-draft-thread.2033940/
We've begun a day ahead of what we originally projected would be the start date. I suspect that not everyone is ready to go.
I've been itching to go since the site was up. Lobo is around, Real Newark has asked for the Google link and we already have three picks; including the Muppety Down Under shuffle. That looks just about ready to me.
I'll be in the air and ground travel to from airports from 9:30 AM EDT tomorrow until 10:30 PM MDT (GMT 0030) Unless it gets back to me before that, we could be on hold. I'll see about sending a proxy pick or two, but I haven't made up my mind yet. I might be able to check in by phone at the layovers.
Had an epic battle between two on that pick. Vardy saved my season last year. Certainly will get the opportunity to do it again. We may be on hold for a few hours until 1800-WC rises.
I posted this in the draft thread and can't belive Glorydaze was in a doze. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Stop. My proxy messed up. I said: When Top Shelf picks Costa, I'll take: Payet, West Ham, Midfield, 9.5 Not that I want Costa! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Payet was formatted; Costa was not! I guess conversations aren't really supposed to be conversations.
Hal has stepped in to 'correct' this and we roll back to Real Newark's Round 2 pick, with Glorydaze to make his second pick again. Payet better be worth all the trouble he keeps causing.
It's not soccer .... don't see no S in FIFA !! also the way the draft is going .. looks like me team name is very relevant this year , lol
miss Piggy upfront & Chef at the back .. FYI .... Kopiteinkc has agreed to Proxy for me if & when I am unavailable.
I'm off on a bike ride. Back in about six hours. Should be around 9am Eastern by then. http://1800-worldcup.com/fantasy/smallrocks.htm
