Goes to show when it comes to health, you just never know what's around the corner. He looked so well just last week, at OT for the game vs Arsenal. He's a strong man though, he'll see this thru. Remember when around the 2000s or so when he had to be fitted for a pacemaker, it was just very casual to him by the looks of it. He barely missed any time either, if I remember correctly. Just hoping and praying he's fine though: anything brain related is just no joke...
The procedure has gone well, according to the club, but he needs a period of intensive care to optimize his recovery. His family is reiterating their request for privacy during that time.
Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone surgery today for a brain haemorrhage. The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to aid his recovery. His family request privacy in this matter.Everyone at Manchester United sends our very best wishes. pic.twitter.com/SDoNzMwVEZ— Manchester United (@ManUtd) May 5, 2018
Weird that the title of this thread isn't updated, since mine was merged into here...any mods on call?
Prayers go out to him and his family. I almost cried reading the report. Alex Ferguson reeducated me on what football means and how it is played. I think that many of us here began supporting the institution of Ferguson before Manchester United. Being such a central, dominant figure allowed it to be that way. What we know as United is all Ferguson.
My daughter Alex was named for him and was in tears when she found out he was ill. He feels like family, a grandfather figure I never met. So pivotal in many happy moments in my life. Prayers for a full recovery.
Absolutely devastated to hear about Sir Alex being unwell in hospital. All my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Be strong Boss xx— Michael Carrick (@carras16) May 5, 2018
I was actually very upset when the news dropped, not afraid to admit it (not going to get into here, but Sir Alex has had a profound impact on my life). Glad and relieved to hear that the surgery went well, but he's definitely not out of the woods yet by any means. Thoughts positive vibes and prayers for his well being need to be ongoing...
Reading the best wishes tweets from the ex players and how much they respected\loved him. It just makes me all teary, and I'm a souless twat who hasen't shed a tear for 10 years.
I've been busy all day doing chores so just sat down and read this. Come on Sir Alex, you can pull through this on.
Couldn't have put it better LA. SAF feels like a grandfather figure. Legend in every way. Hoping he pulls through.
Shocking and surreal. Just wishing him a full recovery. I'm not a Manchester fan and I can't think of the sport without him.
