It has not been finalized according to OB.... but according to Flamengo it is.... I chose to trust Flamengo on this, since they have no reason to lie and Danish clubs always chose to keep their transfer deals a secret as long as possible... So I think this actually has been a done deal for quite some time now...

Freddy Adu on loan to OB Odense

Portuguese giants Benfica have agreed to sign a deal with Danish Superliga side OB Odense, sending their talented 20-yo American midfielder/forward Freddy Adu on a one-year loan to Odense. Adu has confirmed that he will arrive in Denmark today to finalize the negotiations over his personal terms.

    http://www.bold.dk/nyt/Adu-Skal-til-Odense-og-forhandle

At the same time Brazilian giants Flamengo have become very angry at the Odense director of football, saying that they had an agreement, sending 20-yo Brazilian striker Bruno Mezenga on a 1-year loan deal to Odense.. a contract that Odense have not yet signed and most likely are not going to sign after all.

Well, according to Odense, then they have still not made up their mind if they are to sign Bruno Mezenga... It's seems to be that they have made some offers to several players... a "mysterious X" (who is rumoured to be John Utaka from Portsmouth), the talented Danish winger Brian Nielsen and then Freddy Adu .... so it could seem that they are trying to drag out the Bruno Mezenga deal, in case they get the chance to sign a more experienced player instead...
