Pulisic seems to no longer be Puli-sick and gets the start. http://www.espnfc.us/preview?gameId=456819
I look forward to future Ruhr Derbies, with 2 Pulisics for BvB, and Wright, McKennie, and Taitague for Schalke. (It's gonna happen! You just wait!)
Dortmund playing too compact for me right now. I'm not sure if Kagawa is being told to sit deeper to receive the ball but it's really not giving much space to operate in midfield and Schalke are able to easily press.
Dembele clearly has excellent skill and pace, and I know we've beaten this horse to death, but he has GOT to find the pass quicker. As for CP, he's gotten a few touches but not too much involvement yet. Still early on, Dortmund going down the left for the most part, maybe to their detriment right now.
Passlack has been a disaster on that left side so far. If Schalke are smart, they'll keep attacking that side of the field.
It might very well be coincidence, but I wonder if that's how teams set out to defend Dortmund when Dembele and Pulisic start on opposing flanks. If you give Dembele space, he'll eventually dribble himself into trouble and lose it. Whereas with Pulisic, it seems most effective to deny him time and space to get rolling.
CP playing a bit of wingback! (not really, but he's having to track back.) Dortmund back 4 are not great.
I know Weigl has been a little better lately, but he's also been poor today. Dortmund in general have not been good once again, pretty much the entire team. 26th minute now. CP has had a couple hard tackles put in on him. Schalke know he's slight and are using that to defend him. It's certainly something he needs to work on, his balance when shielding the ball and turning.
