I only shred players who play wearing the German NT jersey and do horribly. But he's been dreadful in all 3 matches. Lacks awareness which was the cause of the PK. Also completely invisible in the matches. Not good given his position on the field. But I'll be fair and say most of the team was just bad in this U19 EC. With Barkok being the only good thing on the starting XI, with maybe a okayish for 1 or 2 other players.

He went missing for about two months after the U-19 Euros (injury?), and when he returned in September, he still only seemed to play sporadically. Has only played 120 minutes with the reserves in the last month. Maybe he's been dealing with an injury. He seems to mostly play as a #8, but some as a #10. He's right now cap-tied to Germany, but the fact that he played at the U-19 Euros (even if he played poorly) bodes well for his chances to eventually become good enough to play for us.

was called up to Germany's U20 double friendly games. Although he doesn't deserve any call ups at all. Since he's a 98. These are the tournaments that he seems still eligible for, of course assuming Germany even qualifies.

-2019 U21 EC, since this U21 is from the 96-onwards
-2021 U21 EC, since the U21 seems to jump by 2 years, 2017 was 94-onwards. So going with that seems to be 98-onwards
    -2020 Olympics

Although I would be surprised if he even makes the 2019 U21. Too many better players ahead of him and given that the 2019 is the last chance for 96 and 97 players seems even less likely.

just to give a Friede update

seems like he missed Tuesday's training because of a hand injury. Will turn 20 in April and has yet to play beyond the reserves.

kid turns 20 tomorrow and has yet to make his pro debut.

always wondered how Hertha sees him. I know he has a pro contract until only 2019. Hertha is a club that plays a lot of youth players and almost all of them made their debuts for the main team when they were less than 20, all like 18-19,except for Friede.

well on the + news, Dardai did mention that he intends on giving youth players chances once they guarantee 1BL safety. Although who knows if Friede is included in that or is it more about the other youth players including the U19 that they intend on promoting for next season. 5 games left to see if he makes his debut or not.

as for Germany NT, always felt from all the German Americans provisionally cap tied to Germany. That he was the most likely not playing for seniors. Not only is he nowhere near the best CM of Germany, he's not even one of the best of his age group, 98 either. Still eligible for the German youth until 2021. Then he seems more likely to end up either with the US or no one.

came off the bench on the 68th minute and scored his 3rd of the season on the 88th minute. As Hertha II came back from a 1-0 to win 3-1, scoring 3 in the last 10 minutes.

yeah....does not make the final matchday squad. Season will be over and still no pro debut for him.

the worst part is that Hertha is neither fighting the relegation fight nor the Europe fight and he still gets ignored. They aren't playing for anything tomorrow.

all of the youth players that Hertha are really high on are busy playing the U19 SF round where they trashed Dortmund 4-0 in the 1st leg.

Hertha's 1st team coach on him.
"Sidney still has to improve, the mentality of laziness and complacency is there, so we have to take action against it," the "Berliner Morgenpost" quotes the Hungarian football teacher.

finally back from injury and played his 1st game today. Came on as a sub and played 25 minutes in a 1-1 draw for Hertha II.

I criticized him a ton over the years and he still hasn't impressed anyone at Hertha. A soon to be 21 year old who still hasn't made his pro debut. Hertha have plenty of injury issues and he's not even considered.

"Sidney Friede (20), whom Hertha retraced from the central midfielder to central defender following the transition from youth to men's, is currently playing no role in Dardai's thinking, despite the shortage of personnel. It is reported that U-23 coach Ante Covic was not completely satisfied with Friede's performances (seven regional league appearances this season), who missed the start of the season because of an ankle injury."
