I can't find a list of players from specific regions but Cristian Rigano' and the Tedesco brothers are Sicilians. Check at www.gazzetta.it and look under the club rosters for any particular player.

 

GK Massimo Taibi was born in Palermo.

 

I don't know if Serie B is considered top flight or not but there are some players who have were perenial Serie A players in the 1st division.

Francesco Galeoto was born in Palermo and currently plays for Messina in Serie B.

Aldo Firicano was a good one for a while at Fiorentina....and Massimo Taibi was a great GK with the exception of his stint at Man United.

Calaiò was one my favorites who helped Napoli from C1 to B to A a few years. Not quite good enough for a top flight team so we let him go to Genoa a couple weeks ago. He scored a goal today. Happy for him but wish he had gone to Palermo.
