There run to end the season was sack worthy. On top of that, he's had the job. He has not made any progress with the squad. Theu actually got worse in these 2 years.
And they've had lots of money to work with since they've come up. They never sorted out their away record, they just lost their home record instead.
Looking like another promising team potentially for the US at the upcoming U20 World Cup. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/so...os-names-usa-u-20-world-cup-roster/ar-AABbvDO No Sargent (being drafted into the senior team for the GC). No college players also shows how far domestic academies have come along, with quite a few young guys playing in Europe as well. Might be a bit slow perhaps, but overall things look to be trending in the right direction for football in the US. Looking forward to see how this group performs though.
So many talented players on that U20 roster compared to previous years. Still a depth in class compared to other nations though. A step in the right direction, and hopefully they can make a run to the quarters.
Pretty sure this is why he was left out. Jozy was in amazing form but he just got injured. That leaves Wood, Ramirez, Morris, and Zardes. Prob worth mentioning that the U17 US team just qualified for the WC too. Some interesting players on their roster, particularly Danny Leyva, Gio Reyna, Gianluca Busio, and Ricardo Pepi.
That's the talk that has been going on about him (the squad has yet to be officially announced). The article indicates it as well. Kind of make sense from my point of view, given the options available in attack on the senior squad also.
The senior mens team only plays with 1 striker at a time. They only need 3 on the roster you already have 4 there. I just ask that because he hasnt played much at all lately. He doesnt deserve it and he's definitely not in any kind of form.
I agree that he hasn't played much with Bremen and thought he might have been named to the U20 squad. Personally believe it would have been better for him because of more guaranteed PT and help him build up some confidence in the process. Not impressed with the senior squad forward pool, but still don't see how he'll get major minutes. As stated though, it's widely being reported that he'll probably make the GC squad.
Ricardo Pepi will save us all. Hardly 16 years old and scored a hat-trick on his professional debut in USL League One this year.
I love that these youth players are getting games against men in a competitive league with. Handful of international players. This year in MLS there has been quite a few academy graduates getting time. Memo Rodrigues in Houston, Paxton Pomykal at FC Dallas, Durkin and now Griffin Yow at DC United. There are plenty more. The 16 year old for the Galaxy. Gian Luca Busio for SKC
PSG could be open to selling Tim Weah this summer. https://www.beinsports.com/us/ligue-1/news/report-psg-open-to-selling-weah/1191878 Pretty good incentive for Timmy to have as best showing as he can for upcoming WC. A move away from Paris is what he needs, so he can at least reasonably compete for legitimate playing time.
I would like to see Weah in the Bundisliga as they seem to be keen on American players. Weston McKinney is already at Schalke so that could be a good fit.
It's very exciting times. This is just a year after implementing League One, and a few years after MLS teams started investing in their academies. Give it another 5 and we may not even be able to keep up. This model is the way to go. Invest in the youth academies, buy a few exciting young players with something to prove, maybe the odd statement signings for bigger clubs. Sell the academy players and younger guys for a big profit. Reinvest in the academy. Rinse and repeat. North Texas SC and Tacoma Defiance are going to set the standard for player development the next few years.
UEFA investigators set to push for a Manchester City ban from CL? https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/13/sports/manchester-city-champions-league-uefa.html Surprise, surprise. The question now will be whether something actually comes out of this. Stay tuned, I guess, but it would be nice if some action was taken against that kind of club (and not just "smaller" ones)...

Villa beat West Brom on penalties to seal their trip to Wembley for the promotion final. Hoping Leeds can take care of business tomorrow to join them.
