City definitely needed that: a one goal lead vs this Brighton team was a very dangerous result. This should do it. Beyond doubt now as Gundogan makes it 1-4. City are back to back champs.
all that's left now is whether Aubameyang, Mané or Salah win the boot or all three share it. Mané has been the most impressive of the three imo
Best team won - Liverpool did well but had a definite bump through off-side goals and diving. Both a long way ahead than the rest.
Liverpool just can't join the club. pic.twitter.com/Ga2Q89SFPX— B/R Football (@brfootball) May 12, 2019 Just a no win situation, any way you look at it. And the fact that Pool have not won it, doesn't change anything else: how poor we are and the fact that City still won it back to back since we did it incidentally. Just a complete nightmare of a season, one I'm glad is over, for us at least.
the van Dijk award looks almost as clever as Ginola in the treble season. thought Sterling should have had it but i guess they decided to give him the other award instead
BACK-TO-BACK CHAMPS. pic.twitter.com/qnRR9jxYpi— NBC Sports Soccer (@NBCSportsSoccer) May 12, 2019 Yes, Pool didn't win it, but this should hurt pretty bad as well. And what's worse both those teams show no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Ole is right when he claims that we need to forget the title for a little while and top 4 is the best we can hope for at this time (and that will not be easy neither).
well now we get to sit and witness every other top 6 team have something to play for or in liverpool's case hope to build on. best we can do is hope for Watford to win. don't want to hear any garbage about UEL qualifiers and hoping city win. fxck the oil money, i want no rewards for them. so what if the season starts early? if we fail to qualify then who cares. most think the UEL is shit anyway right? don't deserve European nights on this current form anyway. and if we do qualify so what? the early start to our season will hamper what? a top four push? HA. unlikely enough as is. we won't freefall like Spurs into 4th. Wed/Sat or Thur/Sun shut up and get over it. all the other top clubs deal with it too. at least if we're serious about getting back to the top rather than just top 4 anyway
Three African players have shared the Premier League Golden Boot for the first time:🇪🇬 Mohamed Salah🇸🇳 Sadio Mané🇬🇦 Pierre-Emerick AubameyangThe trio tied on 22. 👑👑👑 pic.twitter.com/dAqBz12WGp— Squawka (@Squawka) May 12, 2019 Congrats to the 3 of them. For the record our top scorer in the league is Pogs, which in itself shows the magnitude of the job ahead of Ole. Drop off for Salah from last season, but he's no one hit wonder. Aubamayang is there, as expected, even if I still did not feel he was at his very best. Mane for me is one of Pool's MVPs this season: nice for him I suppose, he's getting some plaudits.
After Pool dropping that 7pt lead they'd built for themselves, this is the moment of the season as far as I'm concerned. Interesting that we haven't seen much of Stones at the end of the season, but this was incredible defensive work on his part.
Some people here think Rashford can score 30 next season as our starter. So we have that going for us.
Definitely not top of the list as a Pogba replacement or otherwise, but he turned out to be a very good buy for Leicester considering he came from the Championship. It stands to reason he could improve even more next season with Brenda at the helm. If they can keep their team intact, Leicester will be a team to watch, particularly by us IMO. The Bundesliga title race will go down to the wire next weekend with Bayern v Frankfurt and Dortmund v Gladbach. Should be a hell of a weekend, with both of the opposing teams vying for a spot in the CL.
Bayern need a draw because their GD is +17 to Dortmund... Dont see them loosing at home to Eintracht..
BREAKING: Brighton have sacked manager Chris Hughton. (Source: @OfficialBHAFC) pic.twitter.com/c5IR7BoUUD— Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) May 13, 2019
Jeez. He had nothing to work with and got them promoted and kept them up for 2 years. Both Newcastle and Norwich also sacked him in non-relegation positions, they both went down shortly afterwards, same will happen to them next year.
How can this happen if Chelsea is under transfer ban? BREAKING: Real Madrid will announce the €100m signing of Eden Hazard after the Europa League final. (Source: L'Equipe) pic.twitter.com/uz0XUeeyoQ— Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) May 13, 2019
Because the transfer ban only precludes them from buying/registering new players. Technically does not prevent them from selling anyone.
Premier League beware: Pep Guardiola is building to take Manchester City to new levels of dominance #MCFC https://t.co/XUlIEwGDzz pic.twitter.com/BVzIkEzz6n— Telegraph Football (@TeleFootball) May 13, 2019 City and Pool are so far ahead of us at the moment, it's kind of ridiculous and the thought we could actually catch them anytime soon seems ludicrous. The rumored moves they reportedly have lined up, City in particular, will make them close to untouchable if they come to pass. All the while we are scrambling just to keep our best players (one of them being actively nudged out the door by some fans).
