new thread time. fitting that it is made today after we've now seen multiple examples of how it's done from both extremes of the spectrum. as painful as it is spending the big money on the top players (Barça, city, liverpool) recruiting shrewdly and developing your own (Spurs, Ajax) above all else those teams actually have a PLAN. an actual PLAN. as much as we like or don't like them at least you can see what they are doing. and i don't just mean tactically on the field. anyway, proceed

Mauricio Pochettino and Jürgen Klopp have always been criticised for never winning a trophy despite making obvious progress. But now one of these men will win the biggest trophy in club football. 🏆✨ pic.twitter.com/c3dF2kSmQB— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) May 9, 2019
From the other thread: @Ruud I never said Moura was a world beater. But he has been good for them this season, and could have made a massive difference in our insipid, pathetic right wing. His total league playing time amounts to just 22 something games, and he still outperformed every other United midfielder with the exception of Pogba.
i am not convinced. comparing him to our current RW is like saying most numbers are bigger than zero. i gave him his credit but i wouldn't want him. if anything Son is the player i would take from Spurs
Son has been their most consistent player over the last two years. More than Kane, Dele or Moura. Nice of Poch to thumb our eye this week by making the CL. Go Spurs!
this is so true. this is the same stick they used to beat Wenger. then he won the FA Cup then they went on the usual bullshit crusade to belittle every cup not named the UCL and said it didn't count. and of course the loser will be beat with the stick even harder
Valencia are getting the start they wanted vs Arsenal, as Gameiro puts them ahead. The fiery Mestella atmosphere looks to be coming into play as Valencia are all over Arsenal right now. First real chance for Arsenal and Auba scores: 1-1.
technically any three trophies would compose a treble. i know what you mean but you can still have a domestic treble for example. it wouldn't be the "traditional" United 99, Barça 09 or Internazionale 2010 treble comprised of the EC, league and association cup but it still would be a treble. you'd just need to justify it with the correct adjective. i.e. domestic treble, cup treble, Mickey Mouse treble etc.
Lacazette with a very well taken goal to put Arsenal in the lead. Valencia have been flat since Auba's equalizer, after what looked like a promising start for them.
If Klopp loses that final, he should be beat with a stick. And bigger one in fact. Hes got form for it. Bad form. Poch, much less so whatever the outcome.
Looks like Arsenal have punched their ticket to the final. : 2-3 now. The other game appears to be the one to follow as Frankfurt equalizes and they're all square there over both legs.
2-4. given how abysmal Arsenal have been on the road this is unexpected even if Valencia are in a bit of bad form
Chelsea vs Frankfurt is headed to ET. The (historic?) clean sweep of Prem clubs in European comps finals is still on.
Just seening the hilights, but Azpilicueta made one of the best defensive plays I've ever seen - delicately picking the ball off the would-be scorer's foot on the goal line.
Chelsea's defense coming up big with 3 goal saving stops now (Azpi, Luiz and Zappacosta). As they were, with the 2nd half of ET coming up. No score in ET, so it will decided via the lottery of penalties.
