Just reading the Setanta coverage, and a couple of interesting items.

They refer to it as the "McDonald's Community Shield." Oh, yeah? What are those guys, hysterical Americans? (Just a wink and a nudge. It's not an American thing, it's just the thought that the Scottish stereotype of frugality has come home to roost in the charity game.)

And, describing G. Silva's winner (or is it Gilberto S's winner?),

I suppose the "daisy cutter" is another Briticism I don't understand. In golf, we call it a worm-burner.

    -G. Rex

PS- Hey, were I not Chief Lexicographical Officer, would I be raising these questions?

Gilberto was the name written on the jersey so We can clarify that. All Brazillians need a one word name ending in O.

    Worm-burner, daisy-cutter, game-winner............Does it really matter?

The Scots invading the Welsh marketplace to stamp their names on English events.....priceless.
