yeah there are still "beeps" on the life support... barely.
Sheffield Wednesday 2 - 1 Watford
56' Eddie Nolan 1
67' 1 Tom Cleverley
89' Luke Varney 2
hope springs eternal!!
huge 3 points there!
A glimmer of hope.
not the most perceptive of comments, in retrospect.
the irons appear to be dragging themselves out of it, and palace are well and truly in it. they (palace) go to watford on tuesday, and that's one with massive implications for the relegation fight. a palace win makes all three (those two plus a slightly advantaged SWFC) virtually neck-and-neck coming down the stretch. anything else and palace fans can start getting nervy.*
after another respectable performance v coventry, i'm liking wednesday's odds right now. but there's still a way to go, and a few twists to come, i'm sure. it'd be nice to be safe by the sheffield derby, but if not ... well, the atmosphere will just be that much better, eh?
*not that they aren't already, tbf.
i may eat my words... i hope i do.
i still think we'd piss league one tho...
not looking good.
No it is not looking good. It's a shame if you lot go down, but that's football.
That must have been nerve rattling. The match was tied virtually the whole way. Although Brom always looked the better side, one lucky bounce could've left you out in the cold. Instead, the point for Palace doesn't matter, and you only have to beat them at home to stay up.
Keep your composure on Sunday Wednesday will finally have some luck go their way.
I have no fingernails. Thank you West Brom, Crystal Palace and Sky Sports' Score Center.
I'm going to be like a cat on a hot tin roof on Saturday.
yeah, my blood pressure is going to be high all week. it's in our hands. one game to decide our fate, and it'll be at home with a likely sell-out.
i sure hope this'll be televised so i can watch it.
Sheffield Wednesday chairman Lee Strafford told the Yorkshire Post:
I can't say I disagree.
eh... me either.
I'll be chewing my fingers (nails are gone!) with the rest of you.
i'm actually looking forward to pissing league one!!
I agree with Lee Strafford with the regards to relegation for going into Admin... however aren't Wednesday also in £20m or so of debt? I don't know a lot about your situation so it might have been from previous owners or I might be completely wrong.
Tomorrow's match will be on FoxSoccer.tv for anyone who is interested.
Wednesday's debt was estimated at £25 million a year ago, Palace debts are £29 million. It just comes down to wether you can afford those debts as a club or not. Strafford's comments seem badly timed to me and could come back to haunt him as the estimated lose of earnings from being relegated from the Championship is £3-5 million.
it is also going to be on espn3.com ... formerly known as espn36O.com
1-1 at the break. both goals were nice...
i just saw one of you on espn3.com gnawing away... lol.
lol. jeffers on. wtf?
2-2. oh well. come on Alice, down the relegation hole...
don't be. we'll piss league one.
There aren't enough stars to cover the expletives I want to type right now.
