How do you think you'll do against Derby tomorrow? they didn't seem to be all that against us but whether that's them having a bad day at the office or us being a better team than most people give us credit for who knows... if you lot hammer them and we lose to Wolves I have a feeling that it's going to be a very long (and depressing) season.
derby are a bogey team for Wednesday, without question. last win for Wednesday was 2006, if what I've read is correct. it sounds like there's a real 'feel good' factor going on at Hillsborough at the moment, though, which could make for an excellent atmosphere and hopefully a good game. I would not be disappointed with a draw in the slightest. even a loss won't get me down, so long as Wednesday play well. Derby, being just down the road, will bring plenty and be in full voice. and with Wednesday's decent start - not to mention being the league home opener - I wouldn't bet against more (and maybe quite a bit more) than 25k at Hillsborough. i'll say 1-1, but won't be shocked by a one-goal margin either way.
I was hoping Stevie May would forget how to play football, not bitter at all though. Good start to the season from you lot although your defense is looking a bit shaky late on in games?
Blackpool missed most of preseason and then made a mad rush to sign whatever free agents they could get their hands on at the very last minute. Fulham lost most of their experienced players in the summer and Felix Magath is playing mostly kids. I don't think he has shown the Championship enough respect tbh, it's a strong league and the Fulham team of last season would have probably struggled never mind his young inexperienced team.... he seems convinced they'll come good though??
Don't you mean Premiership Burnley? Your start to the season is looking ominously good, what's that like 6 games unbeaten? and you'd be top 2 or 3 if you hadn't messed up at Millwall. Blades and Millers fans already bracing themselves for the worst (a Wednesday promotion push) as we'll never hear the end of it locally.
man, i completely forgot about this match (it IS the league cup, after all), but it's nice to see we pulled it out. this kind of match is a perfect recipe for a cup exit - away match at a higher, but unfanciful club in an early round. i'd love to see us go on a cup run (and not blow it like we did last year ... that still pisses me off, by the way).
Wednesday's reward for besting burnley is a 3rd round draw away to citeh. Wednesday will take 6k. the atmosphere will be ace. should be it for the league cup though, then.
should at least be a nice payday for the club. this is what you want in the cup. get either a beatable opponent at home, or a massive club on the road for the payout.
yep. i felt we outplayed them but we just couldn't catch a break vs their keeper, who i thought was outstanding! May and Nuhui stood out for us, imho, they are footballers. we were definitely missing hutch.
