Left a good impression in the "Winter Cup" final (friendly tournament, 45 minutes per game) vs Borussia Dortmund. Scored one goal, had another good chance, good movement and scored from the penalty spot. Dortmund still won, of course.
You forgot to mention Dortmund only won on penalties... against our 2nd team... in a friendly... shortened game tournament...
I wasn't being too serious (I wouldn't exactly say "amazing goal" but it seems to be a standard title for youtube goal videos)
Shawn Parker entered the game at the 68th minute and picked up two yellow cards to get sent off on the 89th minute. One of the yellows was for diving and another for a bad foul.
I think we have a solid chance of getting him. There are just too many guys in his age range who are playing at a higher level.
How many are there? I don't see that many, especially not out and out forwards. He had a quite impressive start at Bundesliga level. You shouldn't compare him with guys who are "only" two years older, but have 60 more Bundesliga games under their belt. Every player's development is individual, and Parker probably improved his standing in his recent pro games.
"Only" nominated for the German U20 vs Italy. He should be a candidate for the U21 Euro in my opinion. http://www.dfb.de/fileadmin/user_upload/2013/01/Kader_U20m.pdf
http://www.mainz05.de/mainz05/aktuell/news/news-detail/article/zwei-wichtige-unterschriften.html extended his contract until 2017
Excerpt courtesy of Google Translate: "Shawn Parker has already this season to show his talent at the highest level in the Bundesliga. We are confident that he can make us more big development steps and look forward "to the coming years with him, says Christian Heidel [manager of the 1st FSV Mainz 05]. "In him back a young player have trained for years and brought in the Bundesliga. This is a real honor, especially for the work of our youth training center. " Him on the right (duh).
Another red card for Parker. This time against Augusburg, for a foul on Parkhurst?
Yup. Parker nearly hit Parkhurst in the face, his studs were so high. The last red was pretty soft, but this one was completely justified and could see a longer ban, coming just on the one before it.
Or maybe he wanted to try and top what Chandler did to Omar Gonzalez at Nuremberg. Let's put a stop to German-American on American violence!
A Bild exclusive on Parker's red card! Could a German speaker give us a translation? Rote Karte war lächerlich!
"That wasn't on purpose, wasn't a kick and wasn't negligence. He couldn't even see the (other) player," says Coach Thomas Tuchel. How was last night? Parker: "Of course, I didn't sleep well." Was it a red card? Parker: "It was ridiculous. If you watch the pictures/video, you can make your own opinion. I am not saying anything else about it." Support from Teammate Julian Baumgartlinger: "We will build him back up. He can't do anything about it. He didn't do anything wrong."
