Sergio Leon & Fab Ruiz are having their way with the right side of Levante's defense. They had to replace Postigo (their RCB) already, but are losing 0-2 (at home) to Betis.
Out of the squad for Thursday's match. The strange thing is he also was not in the reserve team's squad for today's game. Injury? Or maybe in line for Levante's game this weekend?
Before the season I though 8 first team appearances would be a good step for Shaq (and EH). At 6 he's looking good - let's hope for a few wins to separate Levante from the relegation zone and help him get a few late season appearances.
It's becoming a head-scratcher. Even their fans say Shaq (& El-Hacen, & Koke Vegas, the young keeper) have been treated unfairly, seeing as how the current lot of starters sucks and those three have shown well when they had their (short) chances.
coach got fired, who knows what it means for Moore. http://www.marca.com/en/football/spanish-football/2018/03/04/5a9c3db0ca47410c6c8b4638.html team is only 1-2 pts above the relegation teams.
and an article where Moore talks about the USMNT. http://www.espn.com/soccer/united-s...tient-in-waiting-for-us-national-team-to-call
It's a weird mix of Trinidad, Georgia, and Mexico, I think? Like, the way his pitch changes has a very Mexican-American feel to it.
sounds like a grounded nice young man. Not sure he's got the chops, but la liga will tell us eventually.
another article from the AP from yesterday: American Defender Shaq Moore Carves His European Path at La Liga's Levante https://www.si.com/soccer/2018/03/05/shaq-moore-levante-usmnt-spain-la-liga-american-abroad
Considering Coke & Pedrolo are looking below average, I wouldn't be surprised if Shaq gets another shot. Also, that may be the reason for the articles around about him, the press expects him to return any moment.
I remember visiting a friend in Madrid days prior to the start of Euro 2012. We ate dinner around 10pm and then I was ready for bed, but she said time to go out ...it was midnight. We didn't return home until around 6 or 7. Happy people, but I definitely couldn't keep up with them. I stayed with her, her mom and younger brother. Her mom treated me as her own and her brother and I played some B-Ball with some neighborhood kids.
Is it odd that both ESPN and SI would come out with Shaq Moore articles within days of each other? Is there something happening behind the scenes with Shaq that is not being told? He has not been a factor on the field that would suggest two major news outlets picking him out to report on. I don't see the major interest in the kid. Am I missing something? This seems out of the blue to me.
He has started for a La Liga team a few times, including IMHO a fine showing against Barca. Something not many yanks can claim. Has upside and it's a slow year for yanks abroad? or maybe they see the future and want scoop the story. Either way, some interest is better than none.
without a World Cup on the horizon, it's probably the most interesting new story for non-MLS American soccer news.
