The good: this is his third start in the last five games, going the full 90 all three times. The bad: It's just the Eerste Divisie and the chances of Breda getting promoted are slim. The ugly: He's still nominally owned by Limassol, the club used as a back door to Europe.
Which means that he's owned by the people who own Limassol - and by the the people who own them. Which makes no sense. His father is Irish and he has an Irish passport, so there's no need for a backdoor. He automatically gets a WP in each and every EU country.
He just has to do well enough for some team to want to pay enough for Limassol to sell. Then his European career can actually begin.
Actually he doesn't. He'll be on a Bosman from June 30th and can be picked up for free. His performance this season plus his age (he turns 24 in September) means he'll surely get offers at this level (promotion challengers in Dutch D2) at least. His European career hasn't gone brilliantly, but a solid season at this level means it's already started and that he's been well-scouted. It could have been worse, as Tony Taylor or Gale Aboussoumonde coold tell him.

And Sean is with NAC on 18th en 21th may against FC Volendam in the second round of the play-offs. Thanks to their 0-2 away win against Almere City they dodges a feared confrontation with SC Cambuur and skip the first round. I hope NAC beat the crap out of Volendam, I hate that club. The best thing they can do to please me is to prevent Volendam promoting.

En dat is goed.” translation fsf: Shane O'Neill is proud of his team: "We have shown that we can fight for it" Ad Pertijs 05-05-17, 23:04 Last update: 23:23 ALMERE - Commander Shane O'Neill was the first to come out through the door of the locker room after the 0-2 win on Almere City FC. The cheering inside said a lot about the atmosphere within the team. The American with Irish blood looked particularly sturdy and proud. "We made a big step forward this evening," he said. "Especially as a team we were strong. We did the job together. The second half was maybe a little less, but then we showed that we could fight for it too. " O'Neill said he was pleased to be able again to give the team energy and leadership after his concussion last month. Whether he was afraid at the time of losing his place in the center of defense? The hireling laughs. "I've always said we have many good players. Every week you have to fight here for your place. And that is good."

ended 2-2. I feely admit I am not familiar with the promotion system in the Netherlands. Is there some weird calculus to it or is it exactly like it looks? That's gotta be a good result going into the return leg
Puttin work in in the 2nd leg of the playoff against Volendam, NAC Breda are up 2-0, Shane has a yellow in the 58th. Hopefully he behaves himself the rest of the game.

NAC Breda - NEC thursday 25th of May 18:30 CEST NEC - NAC Breda Sunday 28th of May 16:45 CEST It probably isnot going to be easy. NEC have a lot of experience compared to NAC. In a direct confrontation between Eredivisie clubs and First division/Jupiler clubs, the Eredivisieclubs tend to have the upper hand.
