Good move, he's getting close to retire from soccer, and will enjoy living in the US.

That's why MLS is what it is. Players who are at the end of their careers go there to finish off their football life. Djorkaeff, Walter Zenga, Klinsmann, Carlos Valderrama just to name a few.

It should be known that Hislop did turn down an extension from West Ham before deciding to move to the MLS.;)

All 3 T+T world cup keepers have joined new clubs.
Kevin JAck is now at Gillingham FC, and Clayton Ince is at Wallsall FC.

Its not exactly the premiership, but at their respective ages, its good to be assured a professional contract overseas.

In any case, if we have any sense we're going to be blooding in the younger keepers in the next 2 years.

With respect it's really not the way MLS is, MLS has become a young prospect league much more than an aging retiree league. Of your examples only Djorkaeff is in the league, Zenga and Valderrama retired ages ago, and Klinsmann never played in MLS.

That's true. When I said a good retirement place, I only meant the country, not the league.
