As noticed by @ielag, Shaft Brewer's twitter profile says that he's now a footballer for RB Leipzig, and will wear number 28. https://twitter.com/DontBlink28 He turns 18 in October, so theoretically he'll train with them until then.
Seems like an interesting case. If I recall correctly, he moved to FC Dallas from the Sacramento Republic for this past Academy season. I assume he met, or was soon to meet, the league's requirements for an HG contract. Adds another early pro/Europe-based option for the next U20 cycle.
He was also part of that U18 team that won the Vaclav Jezek Tournament in 2016. He played 20 odd minutes in the final.
Perhaps it's too obvious, but I think we'd regret not taking the opportunity to use an Isaac Hayes reference.
This (German) article notes the logistical issues with him moving to Germany before he turns 18, indicating that his parents might have moved with him. https://www.tag24.de/nachrichten/fu...et-seinen-wechsel-zu-rb-leipzig-selbst-285532

Turning 18 on the 28th. He'll be eligible to play in youth games then. I am already calling a monopoly on all Shaft news @BostonRed @ChuckMe92
Actually, I think we missed his debut, which was last Saturday. He played the second half against Chemnitz in a U19 Bundesliga game.
Here's his goal Don’t waste time just get straight to it😈🔥 pic.twitter.com/L6LS71rpVw— Shaft Brewer Jr (@DontBlink28) November 19, 2017
