SF: July 11 Croatia vs England [R]

It has hardly rained in London during the tournament so far. What there has been has been very light and brief. There were even serious wildfires near Manchester. When weather comes home it will probably be biblical in scale.

Agree but its a double edged sword. If they attach and don't take the lead they will tire quickly and the pace of the English will takeover. If Pickford has one big save its going to be tough on the Croatians.

If Sterling runs through the Croatian back line like he did against Sweden then England wins easy. Yes I get he hasn't finished but that punishes the defense in many ways that don't show up in the stat line. And sooner or later he will finish. The problem is that it will force Modric to lay back too much supporting the defense and in that case Croatia doesn't win.

 

Nervous as hell. When does excitement cross the line to dread? Hope we win but good luck to Croatia if we don't.

My gut feeling says 2-1 Croatia

Vrsaljko is starting. Brozović is the only change. We might see a good game. I know Croatian players are relieved. There is no pressure anymore. This could lead to a better performance than in previous two games. If they can score first they will take this. Ajmo Vatreni!
