With the trash talking going on I think South America would explode if we somehow win this game

Hard to see USA standing a chance with some players out Argentina shouldnt have much of a problem since it looks like they'll be a full strength.

It really depends on if they're humble and yet confident. If they go into the game understanding the difference in level but also targeting Argentina's weak points then they'll have a chance. Venezuela showed some possible weakness they just weren't able to capitalize. I think that the US might have a little more luck since there defense is better. Still, Argentina are the favorites.

ARG have shown weaknesses for some periods during games but it's always when they are leading the score. I'm yet to see any team outplay Argentina at 0-0.

-Chile started to have momentum when they were already down 2-0
-Panama when they were down 1-0 and until Messi showed up
-Bolivia didn't have any shots, but they somewhat "neutralized" argentine attack when they stopped caring after 3-0 at HT.
-Venezuela was totally outplayed the first 30 min, then started putting pressure on ARG when the match was esentially over.

That being said I doubt USA is the team that can exploit those weaknesses, technical difference between players is too big. USA however has had 2 more rest days, so that could play a part late in the match if USA is still in the game.

Years ago the US national team played Argentina's under 23 team and beat the US.

They did it by when they lost ball they all fell back that left nothing to attack and no through pass space. It looked like man from Argentinas backs. They got a lot of intercepted passes. They countered from those passes and beat the US on counter attacks.

The US could do the same thing to Argentina if we had an inventive coach in Klinnesman do we? Nope

When it comes to individual technical ability and tactical soundness there is arguably no better team than Argentina. If the U.S. has any advantage is the ability to play greater than whole. U.S. players are taught at birth, if you do not believe you can win, then you have no business being on the field. You play to win period. If Klinnsman chooses to play overly defensive against the American Psyche then defeat is assured. The US has to play aggressive. This is the only way the US can have any hope of winning.

Argentina likely decides the match by the end of first half.

Usa is going to respect argentina too much in this game, is a semifinals vs a big team like Argentina... plus is not like is the first knockout game that Argentina is playing. They have a WC final and a copa america final under their belt , this just show how well seasoned this team is.
Yeah Argentina lost both finals but against Germany and Chile, I dont even think I have to explain the difference between Chile/Germany and USA.
Even against Ecuador USA almost gave the game away due to inexperience on handeling the pressure in key moments, a way better and more experienced team like Argentina is going to capitalize on that.

The USA has a couple of kids I really want to see play. Pulisic and Nagbe add a lot of skill and speed to the team that the old guys just don't have.
That said, the spotlight and moment may be too big for them to be thrown into a game like this from the start.

Sure, Argentina should win but anything can happen. Come on U-S-A!
